Title: Maple Burl Hunter
Post by: kbaknife on April 01, 2015, 03:08:00 PM
At the Little Rock show, Pop's Poplin had this big pile of stabilized maple Burl blocks for $16.00/ea.
I think I got four of them!
I had to try one out and see what they revealed.
I put it on a W1 blade forged from some large round stock and built it in a take-down style.
It is full of character!

To me that looks as good as some desert ironwood. It has a camouflage effect. I really like this one Karl. It reminds me of the knife I have from you.    :campfire:

I also really like the spine. Whole thing looks really great, Karl. Beautiful wood.
