Been playing around and trying to learn how to make liner locks......these will be #'s 2,3 and 4.......and yes, that one is a bit on the large side. Folding bowie.....13"plus overall length.....6 inch blade. The other 2 are my own Armstrong Damascus..... :knothead:

Awesome job man. I've been tinkering with folder designs and ruined the first 3 I had started...shocker. Getting a mill delivered tomorrow and happy for the extra precision it's going to lend. I'm looking forward to seeing how yours come together-thanks for posting them.

Can't wait to see how these turn out.

These look awesome so far Darcy!

Thanks guys. I heat treated the blades last night so hope to make some more progress this week. The ladder pattern one is getting engraved bolsters and mammoth ivory, so it will not progress too fast.

WOW  that turned out incredible Darcy, one to be proud of for sure.
How did you "orange peel" the liners? cool effect.
Thanks for sharing!

Thanks guys.
Doug, I use a cup wire brush in my drill press at max speed........I use that for texturing a lot. I sanded the titanium to 400grit first.
The stainless bolsters also were hand sanded to 400 grit and then engraved, wire wheeled, heated to black heat, and then buffed back. Leaves the black in the engraving and in the low spots(tiny) of the textured surface.......makes a nice finish IMHO.
