Title: 1084 and Osage
Post by: Thadbow on April 02, 2015, 07:29:00 PM
Well, it should of been called 1084 and curly maple but things don't always turn out like you plan.
I have never made a larger knife like this before and I sure made my share of mistakes but I am happy with the all together turn out.
  1084 from Aldo
Stabilized Osage from B.Jansen (Thanks Brad)
Brass hardware from old gate valve stem
  13" OAL

Great job-and don't worry...you're not alone on things not going quite to plan... I've wasted and/or messed up materials and equipment all along the way. I like to call them learning experiences  ;) .

Handle looks comfy, blade is a nice shape......that's one "good to go" trail knife right there.

Good looking blade.  Nice lines and looks like a very user friendly design.

That's a great looking knife! Perfect partner for someone that shoots an osage selfbow!

Sure looks like a winner to me Thad, just keep at her and those hiccups will go away or at least get further between.  ;)

I like the handle shape and the fact you purpose parts for it.
