Title: 3v pocket fighter

For this new design I wanted to take the lines from some of my favorite big fighters and mix that with my favorite small knife. The Loveless NYS.
What I ended up with was this compact little powerhouse I call my "Wingman" pocket fighter.
These first couple I did in CPM 3v at 62rc. I do my own heat treat on these, which includes proper LN Cryo and a low temp temper (thanks to Nathan Carothers and Dan Keffeler for HT pointers).
I hand stitched the leather cross draw sheaths to wrap up the package.
I am very happy with how these came out, please let me know what you think.

I blasted the green micarta on this one and then tumbled the whole thing for an nice grippy feel. This also give the copper pins a cool look.

Yep.
That's a nice design.
Will a finger tip fit in that forward choil?

To my eye and for my needs thats the best one you've put out yet. Not that any of your previous blades were not fine knives but this one looks like I could get along with it.

Ben,

What are the spec's on this knife? Really like it, and is the top fwd edge sharpened?

The choil is too small for a finger, mosty there to aid in sharpening and style. : )

OAL is 7 1/4", blade is 3 3/16". The top edge is unsharpened.

I'd like to see a natural handle material version......stag or sheep horn......maybe jigged bone??

This is a great knife(IMHO)Good style and just the right size.

Stag would be awesome, jigged bone would be nice too, finding either in 1.5" width is not easy.

Sheep horn is an option though, as large pieces are easily found. Ironwood would of course be nice too.


Thanks everyone for the comments!! These really melt in your hand, and are very comfortable in a number of grips. The harpoon actually works very nicely for a thumb ramp which adds a lot of control for the needle sharp point.
