Title: Respirator question
Post by: wissler on July 13, 2015, 09:17:00 AM
I am thinking about purchasing a full face respirator. It seems no matter which type of goggles I use, they fog up, and I still get dust from woods in my eyes. Cocobolo is the worst so far for me. After working in the driveway sanding over the weekend, I pulled off my goggles and respirator and washed my face, and my eyes still were irritated. I'm using a half face respirator currently with "organic vapor" cartridges. It works really good. I've got asthma and wicked allergies

Any direction choosing which respirator would be helpful. It's really holding me back

Full face mask by 3m, Sherwin Williams has them or can get them. We use them all the time for spraying lacquer.

Be careful with Cocobolo either way. If it even gets in my eyes, I have a reaction. I think it will affect you by sitting in your hair or on your skin if left long enough.

I use a 3M face respirator.  Also I never grind in an enclosed room.  Both my shops in Boston & Aiken, SC have garage doors.  I set my grinder up near the door and have a large barn fan blowing everything away from me to the outside.
