Title: A Huntin' knife
Post by: kbaknife on August 01, 2015, 05:14:00 PM
I wanted to show you guys this knife because I used, for the first time, a material the guy called Tasmanian Blackwood - even though it's not black.
Go figure.
I got it in Atlanta in June. It is every bit as beautiful and chatoyant as Koa.
In fact, the guy said he knew for a fact that some folks peddle it off AS KOA!
But I call it what it is.
The blade is W2 forged down from a 1 1/2" round bar.
416 guard.
Take-down.

Really nice!  I like the wood!

observation, the Hamon looks very different on each side of the blade.  With my limited experience one side is very similar to the other.

Real nice Karl. Good looking blade, like the shape on that handle too.

This knife now resides with me.  The craftsmanship and attention to detail is unreal.  I have never owned a knife of this quality and feel privileged to do so.

I look forward to putting this knife to use this Fall.  Chad

I used this knife on my 11 year old son's first traditional harvest.
