Which knives are you fellas hunting this year? I know I only need a chintzy, little, pocket folder but I usually have 3 on me to start with. For this year Ive got it narrowed down to two. Will post pics tonight.

My 3 1/2" blade Integral Featherweight (3 1/2 ounce): D2 tool steel, stabilized Hawaiian feathered Koa handle. As with all of my personal carries, this one will most likely be given away to some deserving individual in the future.

Here's my go to hunting knife. Old Timer Deerslayer. Kinda strange since I build knives, but I usually don't hang on to the ones I build very long and there's a story behind this one. My grandfather bought three of these in the early 80s: one for my dad, one for my uncle Kenneth , and one for himself. My uncle passed away when I was a young kid and my grandfather got that one back and put it up on a shelf for the next 15-20 years. His spent most of its time on the dash of his truck because he wore overalls and never had a belt to hang it on. When I was in college, my older brother and I were at my grandfather's house one day skinning a couple big ole does we had killed and had both left our "good" knives at home. He watched us struggling with a couple small, dull pocket knives from his rocker on the porch for few minutes before going inside. When he came back out, he handed my uncle's knife to me and handed his to my older brother. After we finished, he told us to hang on to them as long as we needed them and that he'd know where they were if he ever needed them. He passed away about 5 years ago. He never did need it back, but I'm still keeping it sharp for him just in case. My uncle had two daughters when he passed away and they both have young sons now. I know my son would love to have it, but I'm thinking I'll probably try to see that one my uncle's grandsons gets it instead.

Love these kind of threads. Here is my Ironwood drop point I made this summer and my Nessmuk Chopper. Both will be on my side. I usually make a couple to carry in case I need to change my luck.

Unless I have time to build one for myself - which I doubt - I will probably stick to ol' reliable made in '12:

But!! When I have time to build myself another carry/hunting knife, it will be like this:

Mine for the season is still a work in progress.

It will have 3000 year old bog oak and wrought iron.

Like many of you I rarely hang onto one of my own long enough to use it during the season but this one has been with me almost a full year so I think it will accompany me this fall. Ugly orange handle keep it visible when I set it down in the woods.

Some fine steel fellas.

Made a little progress this evening. I hope to have everything ready to etch by the end of the weekend.

Nice looking blades gents

Nothing got made this year, so I'm unsure. New bare blade is about 3 feet long, not exactly skinning material.

A case trapper and a medicine blade from Ray Kirk will be with me.

After sitting in my safe for the last 15 months, this little Belt Bowie from our own Lin Rhea will be with me in a Rowe cross draw sheath this year.
Plus I'll have a Case Bulldog on the other side.

It's been close to ten years, I'll be carrying my Robtattoo. English yew handle with a slice of purple heart. 01 tool steel, scandi grind. It dressed out 3 deer before my dad put it across his fine stone and a few strokes go by and she's razor sharp.

This knife was made by a friend of mine and I have managed to keep track of it for 20 some years. It is always in my hunting pack. I have been lucky enough to put it too use on a few occasions. :)
I love seeing all the Fine craftsmanship that shows up on this TG site - Bows, Arrows, leather work, knives... it is all eye candy!
