Title: The Fat Lady Sang...
Post by: Doug Campbell on April 06, 2016, 01:02:00 PM
Here is a custom order I've been working on for a while, calling her the Fat Lady. W's surrounded by twist Damascus, all W Damascus fittings, frame handle and premium stabilized Curly Koa. 6 1/2" X 2 3/8" X.300" blade.

Not only does she sing but it looks like she's pointing to some rising trout.  Very cool knife!

The chunky blade is not my cup o' tea, but everything else is awesome! Can we get a better look at the steel, pretty please? It looks like there is some serious shimmery goodness going on in there.
Really like the handle and fittings.

I would hate to meet that in a dark alley!  Looks like it has some heft to it.  Pretty cool blade Doug.  Always nice to see something different!

Yea it took me a bit to warm up to it too Darcy. Built nearly identical to the new owners specs and drawing. After getting her built I'm kinda liking it now.

Here's a detail pic of the pattern, crushed Ws, tiled, forged to shape then forge weld the twist bars onto the Ws. It was fun...
