Title: Sambar Stag "Tuning Fork" Integral Hunter
Post by: Idahomike251 on June 13, 2016, 10:37:00 PM
8-1/2" overall with 3-1/2" blade mirror polished D2 tool steel with Rockwell 60.5C hardness. This integral was made out of 1/2 inch thick piece of D2 bar stock. It was great learning experience for trying to make the smooth transition from rough and uneven texture of the stag horn to the slot of the metal handle. I need to work on getting a tighter fit for the retaining pins through the metal handle.

Lin,
It's a piece of violet stabilized box elder burl gifted to me from Montana knife maker Mac Mclaughlin.
