I obviously didn't make this knife. So if this is not the place for this post forgive me.
The Opinel No. 8 is a favorite of mine. simple, light and does what I need it to in the field. great for skinning and careful game processing in the kitchen.
I recently got a couple new no. 8s so I figured I would doll one up for my edc.

no power tools used, just rasps and hand saws. Wood is the beechwood that came with it running down the center. some Jatoba I salvaged from some old flooring I found around. and the black horn on the rear end is water buffalo from a dog chew at petco. filed the tip of the blade so its a bit more of a drop point style. Sanded to 2000 grit, polished up with rouge on a leather stop.

When my Brother killed a cape buffalo that was going to be life-size mounted for a museum, the professional hunter drug a satchel full of Opinels and a whetstone out from under the seat. They made really good time, as one or two would be skinning, and another keeping the knives touched up. He said he hadn't found anything else that worked as well.
