Title: First Knife
Post by: Wolftrail on May 07, 2017, 12:51:00 AM
Its rough around the edges. But it does what I designed it to do. Chop, shape and cut kindling.
Made from an old file and cold ground, holds edge just fine. Overall length 12". Yew handle. Made the guard from a nickel plated door hinge.

Thnx guys, it was a fun experiment.  I think I'll build a couple more file knives. I roughed out a self bow with a hatchet then used this knife to get it to the bending stage.

Cool knife!
And very nice work!
It will be interesting to watch your progression.  It's a fun and rewarding journey.
