Had a case of spring fever the other day so I decided to chase the local Grizzlys that were fresh out of hibernation. Got this young male on my very first stalk of the year. Shot him with a Bear Grizzly, cedar shaft, and snuffer broadhead at about 20 yards. :)

Arwin, now is the time to get after them cause soon as the grass and other stuff start growing they get harder to locate.
Thanks for the attaboys everyone! Man, my ol heart was hammering the closer I got and I even stopped a few times to take a deep breath and gain my composure. Felt like I was putting the stalk on a "Real" Grizz! :D

I shoot a big 3 blade head cause it will slow them down quite a bit. With a 2 blade head they can still have some get up n go left in them.
The best thing to do is to know where their den and escape holes are and once you shoot one, get between them and the holes and put another arrow in them. I usually have to shoot one at least twice to stop em cold.
I shot this fella a 2nd time as he was going towards his hole. I hit him in the neck and stopped him in his tracks.

yeah figured to do that. try and get him away from his holes. dont want the poor fella dieing and going to waste in a hole. also, lose a good wood arrow. :(

Jeff, I just want to know why I can hit a woodchuck at 20 yards and miss a deer by 4 feet at 10 yards? ;)
