Well here it finally is. My new Shawnee Arapho just arrived and I'm very pleased. Bad part is I'm recovering from elbow surgery and can't shoot for another 3 weeks. But I can stare at it. It's 54@27 A-riser with D limbs which makes a 60" bow. It's really a custom handle I went to Bobs and had him copy my Cheyenn. It's a cross between a low grip adn a medium. The woods are Bocote handle with macassar ebony. The limbs are foam core with Bacote veneers on both sides. Once again, Bob has made a beautiful piece of work. Beautiful combo. It would be a sin to let just sit there collecting dust for 3weeks. You can send my way and I'll break her in real gentle like ;)

Well it took me a while but here are all the pics. Hope you enjoy them.
-
I think I messed the sizing up on the first one.
-
Awesome looking bow I really like the wood combo you chose.
-
Wow, that is gorgeous bocote in the riser!
-
How dare you! Now I might have to order another one! You know, can't have to many of Bob's bows. Least that's what I tell my wife. Great looking bow!
-
This might be a dumb question, but how do the limbs attach to the riser?
BTW - That is one Sweet looking bow!! Great wood combos.

The Shawnee limbs attach just like other recurves but the bolt comes throught the back of the riser. In pic 2 you see the "CAPS" where the bolts generally go. The bolts are under those.
-
Danny Rowan, the foam cores are calling you
-
Thanks leatherneck, I thought that was it, but was unsure.
Makes for a very clean look on the back.
I will go to the website to answer any of my other "smart" questions.

I am SO jealous.
Bob wouldn't put a wood veneer on my foam core limbs. This must be a fairly new development. But then again, I am finally able to afford my own food and don't have to fight the cat for hers. Limb veneers would have held my progress back another couple of weeks. ;)
Hurry up and heal, you're gonna love this bow!

WOW ! that is awesome !
You have to exercise self control and not go out and hurt yourself!
-
KD, I think I heard Bob say these were one of the 1st sets of Arapho's he's put the veneers on the foam core. Let's keep the $$$$$$$ subject to a minimum or I might be sleeping with your cat.LOL!
-Snag, Inspiration,YES, I just hope it doesn't cause me to rush it.
-DANNY, DANNY,DANNY, I hear the chant of the foam core.

Beautiful Mike

Hey Leatherneck, I read a bit ago a contribution from Bob that he felt the foam added no appreciable performance over boo in the Arapaho limbs but does in the Dakotas. I have the boo Arapahos and just wondered if you have an opinion. Don't know if you've shot both.
-
It's not the foam he's talking about it's the carbon backing. On the recurve limbs it doesn't do enough to justify. But...... on the dakota the carbon really shines, to the tune of 7-8 fps! The foam core works awesome with both designs. ron
-
i shot the recurve with the foam core and own a 1 pc foam and carbon dakota. They are a different animal for sure. Its a different feel, Super smooth and stable. The thing that struck me was how quiet and fast both bows are. cheers, ron
-
by the way Leatherneck, that is the best looking riser i've seen, good luck hope you heal quickly. ron
-
If you guys would like i will get that bow while he is at work, and send it so someone can break it in.Im a left hander cant shoot it.####
