I need some help I had a guy make some strings for my two bows. I have a 52" recurve and a 60" long bow. The recurve string is 48 and 3/4in and the longbow is 55 and 1/2in. I think they are too short what do you all think? The recurve has a 9in. brace height from the belly and I didn't string the longbow. The string material is B-50 also I know it streches some but how much? I measured the string from one loop end to the other also. What range should the brace height be around as well? What should I do have him make so more strings or what? This frustrates me and have been waiting on these strings for a couple weeks. Thanks in advance everyone.

measure the brace from the throat of the grip. recurve brace will be higher than longbow. my home made recurve is braced at 8 1/4 inches. my bbo flatbow shoots best around 6 inches. my bear recurves are between 8 and 8 1/2 inches. who made your bows? usually recurve strings are 4 inches shorter than the bow and i believe longbow strings are 3 inches shorter.

I would string both bows and let them sit a few days, the B50 will streach, then see what you got

I made the long bow and the recurve is a Shim. What about the strech how much can I expect the string to stretch I have heard 1 1/4in.
