Hi All
Anybody know if methanol or ethanol will damage the glue in action boo?
I'm thinking of staining some in a bow build with an alcohol based stain.
I'd hate to have the stain weaken all the glue bonds.
Thank you!

That is a good question, have wondered about that too, along with will the heat from curing the epoxy weaken the bamboo glue. I am using lams cut from verticle bamboo flooring. Does anyone know what kind of glue is used for lamination bamboo flooring?

I guess it is often the same adhesive used in plywood..UF adhesive. (Urea Formaldehyde).
It is a thermoset resin.
I have the same worries as you do.
My ONLY comfort lies in the fact that the stuff has been being used in bows and seems to work.

You are not soaking it in alcohol overnight, right?
I've used alcohol to stain boo flooring without any problems. Don't know anything about actionboo. Do you have any scraps you can soak for a while?

I have only used alcohol dye on aboo once, but it has held together for several years. Based totally on that one time experience I would say no.
