Thanks John!!
-
Well I sure hope that is a Man purse :biglaugh:
-
You're very welcome Kenny!
Since Roy wasn't in the swap this year, I let him in on the little secret of who I was building for. He did a good job of keeping it a secret too.
-
Yup I kept my mouth shut for once. John asked me what Kenny liked and I said bait him out, so we did in threads, but I know Kenny liked the stuff he made my bow out of. So John ordered the material off Kenny, LMAO. Then John sent Kenny a note along with the bow saying the lams were bad so he was returning them to Kenny:) LMFAO.. I told John to stain it Hot Pink, but he chickened out:)
-
Kennys purse is very manly. Lol
-
I just couldn't go the hot pink route. I did really consider sending Kenny a pice of pvc with some paracord attached to each end but then he would have known the real bow was following from Pennsylvania.
I saw that it was delivered earlier tonight and Roy and I were waiting for Kenny to post something about it. Roy pm'ed me that he was either shooting it or broke it while stringing it. To which I responed that if he made better lams that sort of thing wouldn't happen
Seriously though, the lams were perfect as always and I'm still not sure if my craftsmanship is worthy of using lams from Kenny.
-
I'm bettin John hadda duck tape yer hands to your lips!!
And Dave, I gotta go find that purse and see if it IS manly! Usually carry my stuff in a sack! :D
-
Isn't a man purse called a "murse"?
-
You tell us Cabbage, LOL:) Nap Sack works for me, or Fanny Pack. Heck even a Possibles Bag, but that could really take us down hill fast..
-

You got that right Fuji. I was once talking to a guy here in the states who had been visiting my home town in Australia. He was coaching a softball team and trying to politely tell the girls to squat down more he told them to "get their fannies closer to the ground." that went over real well.
Roy did kenny lend the camera to Hova
-
He must have:) He's had the bow for two days now an no pictures? He can't pull it back I swear. I'm gonna call his wife and have her pull it back... Or I kin send him my war dress.. LOL
-
I can imagine how that would have gone down Razorback :biglaugh: :biglaugh: :biglaugh:
-
Hope all is well with Kenny. Not like him not to pop in here.
-
All good buddy! Had a customer come to shop, had to get a set of limb lams and wedges made!
And then... (drum roll please) I shot the bow John sent!
The thing shoots like a dream, looked to be set up for 3 under, so that is how I shot it.
Killed my turkey target every time at 8-9 yds in shop!
It is , at first impression , quieter than my more d/r bow 3 under, and shot the same arrows quite well.
It is superbly put together and has a great finish on it.
Still no good light for good pics, and may not be any til next week, the way the weather sounds!!
-
Me thinks Kenny is messing with us. Maybe his camera is so old it gots no flash on it. :dunno:
-
Glad you like it Kenny.
Do you normally shoot 3 under? At one point, it was 1/8" positive tiller and then I noticed that after I had finished it and shot it, it was then closer to even tiller. I shot it split finger. Maybe it's just the way I shoot, but with every bow I've made off that form, I tend to shoot better with the nock set kind of high. Whatever works best for ya...
The finish is nothing fancy - 6 coats of plain old Minwax wipe on poly.
Get some pics up so these guys quit hounding you.
-
Thank You, John!!
I love the bow, and will get some pics as soon as the lighting is good. Some sun, but not direct.
Too nice to half-arse the pics!!
My bows tend to have about 1/4 to 3/8 nockset high from square. Glad someone has the same deal!!
-
Will today be the day? :dunno:
-
Here we sit like birds in the wilderness, birds in the wilderness, birds in the wilderness, waiting on a full draw pix:)
