Well I went ahead and purchased a new ground blind,
" The Dark House" from double bull, the photos in the advertisements do not do it justice, if I had to describe it, it looks like a safari suit, I think it will work out good for the deer because they see in black-and-white. It is half 5 T & matrix, you can totally removed the camouflage screening on the matrix side, there are some new features in it that I really like compared to the matrix. I got quite a deal on it $249.00, and it is brand-new, bad news, the deal is not open to the public so I cannot say where. I would just say it's one of my benefits !
Although I did get quite used to the tree stand a this year. I am trying to purchase a grizzly, or a K-Mag to shoot with from the blind. But my "whip" may be just fine 62". Looks like it's gotta be a fun year. :biglaugh:

That is a great price! I have the matrix and like the predator camo better but I wish mine had the door like the dark horse. Great blinds! Practice setting it up a few times before heading to the woods. It's easy once you get the hang of it but there is a learning curve. Enjoy.

I had had the T 5 & T 2, I sold them so that I could get the combination in the dark house, the camo pattern in the dark house looks more like dark and light juniper trees. I think it'll work out good for deer. A new "whip" and new blind, looking forward to some new experiences.

Well, if you ever want to sell that old "used" darkhorse for $250, I'll buy it and you can get yourself a nice "new" darkhorse...Mike

We can only do one time a year, I think I'll keep this one !

I have been shooting a 60” bow in mine. I have to cant the bow a bit to keep from striking the top of the blind but it is a great blind for the price.

This one should work out great my bow is 62", and I just talked to someone about purchasing a 58 in. today, haven't heard.
I think the pattern on this is pretty decent, I have shot out of the T 5, so I know they work, you need to brush then in. And still watch your wind, looking forward to hunting out of it.

Is the materiel the same as the older DB blinds, by this I mean no shine no flap. I like the material my 360 is made of.

Stone Knife
I am not sure if the question you asked was for me or someone else but I will answer anyway. The blind that I posted is the same material as DB and the poles, hinge system and screen material look like the DB blind.
One corner of the blind has a full length zipper for a door and inside the blind there is a bow hanger, hanging from the middle of the blind. I really don’t care for the bow hanger because it gets in the way when I am trying to shoot but, I was able to tuck it in between the fabric and a pole to get it out of the way.
The dimensions that are called out are the same as the DB but, comparing the Predator Den along side the Double Bull I can assure you that the DB is taller in the middle by about 4”. So I have to cant my bow to miss the top but, there is plenty of room for canting the bow.
I have been shooting out of it in my basement and I have only shot out of the middle window so far. I have found that I only use the bottom third of the middle window because I am paranoid that I am going to whack the top of the blind with my bow. This is the first blind that I have ever shot out of so I am still trying to get used to the feel of a confined space. Oh… I almost forgot the top also has a zip away window for goose hunting. If I find that I can’t get use to the whole top space issue I may try opening the top window for limb clearance and see how that works. The only problem is the top window will let light in and make me more visible.
Anyway, for the money I think it is a great buy. If I can’t get use to shooting a 60” bow out of it then…well dang it, I might have to by a shorter bow.

Gatekeeper, I have the same blind. What I do is, sit back in a corner and use the two lower windows on each side of a corner. Works out good for me with a 58" recurve. I was able to shoot a 62" longbow this way too...Mike

Thanks guys.

I shot a turkey out of a Double Bull Matrix 360 last spring with a 62" whip. No problems. You will be fine.
Great find on the price!!!

Great !!

The new Dark Horse looks great, but my vote for "most blind for the money" goes to the Yukon Tracks Enforcer.

I have had all 3, the T 5, T 2,and now the Dark House, and the dark House seems to be about 3 in. higher than the T 5, tonight at work I took a Montana lonebow 64" and drew back, and watched for the clearance, if I was to shoot that bow, and there was enough clearance, even without canting the bow. True the space is limited you have to watch it with a 64" but I do think that a 62 in. bow will have no trouble.

Hey Guy's,
Does the Ground Max Predators Den have shoot thru mesh on the windows? It does not say anything about that on the cabelas or primos web page.

Yes

Thank's Tom. I think for that price I'm going to have to get one. I just don't have the money for a double bull blind!

Bobby, if money is a concern I would strongly suggest looking at the Yukon Tracks Enforcer Elite - it's a hell of a lot of blind for $150.00. Not taking anything away from the Dark Horse or Gound Max, they both look like excellent blinds, but I've never personally inspected either so I really can't have an opinion. The Enforcer, on the other hand, I've had plenty of experience with and I can tell ya one thing, if you can find a higher quality blind for a cheaper price than the Enforcer you've done WELL. The Dispatcher Elite is olnly slightly smaller and sells for $120.00.
