Some of the folks that have been banned, one guy screwed another on a $3500 riser...he and his crew are trying to 'DROPBOMB' the site....
MAKE SURE YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE DEALING WITH!!!!
If anything sounds fishy...let me know.
If they are NOT a member here BEWARE!!!
If their name is in any way different then their profile.....BEWARE!!!!!...and concact us...and make a post exposing them.
These folks actually screw folks and then laugh about it. What they don't know is they have a snitch in the bunch.....but I'm sure they will find out now that I have posted about it.
-
$3500 riser! Wow, that must have been extremely rare.
-
TTT
-
That would be worth going after for me, infact 50 cents would be worth going after if they were going to cheat me.
-
That amount is a FELONY OFFENSE, not just a misdemeanor. I would pursue it and put the guy in PRISON, not just a short while in jail. Thanks Terry!
-
Terry thank you for letting us know! $3500 holy smokes.
-
thanks for heads up - these guys make me sick!!
-
I had a situation where a guy cheated me out of $10,000 I took him to court won a judgement and he turned around and filed bankruptcy. I then couldn't do anything. I showed up to his hearing and it did no good. Just beware when spending any large amount of money.
-
I would like to say I have traded a few and bought a few, All were very pleasing to deal with. It just take one sour apple.
-
I got taken a couple times or the 2nd time I'm still not sure,,, moderators here handled one of the times for me and I did get my money back and the person is STILL on the scammers list which means the moderators weren't playing around but there was another time I sold a bow then the person said the bow broke and wanted his money back so I asked for picture of the bow and did refund then a buddy at work said the picture they sent was a photo shop and it wasn't even the same colors on the delaminated limbs in the picture it just looked weird but I couldn't prove it and just hope it wasn't true and moved on..
so yes be careful refunding money or trading back bows too.
EDITED in --> I forgot to mention that other than my couple things I have had nothing but good experiences here maybe over 100 deals all good, and many good conversations, made some new friends, and learned of some new hunting spots.
-
I read more than I post here. I always provide my location and phone number. I expect the same in return.
Courtesy and helps on both ends. Made a few new friends this way too. All good so far.
Thanks Terry.

Thanks for the heads up!

A $3500 riser? I'd like more details, not on the scammer and his naive buyer, but on the riser. Embedded with ivory, turquoise and gold flecks? Carved from mammoth tusk?
-
Some of those early Bear takedowns are rather rare and have been going up in price. When folks see what big dollars they are bringing, it's tempting to try something foolish.
It pays to know the merchandise, but sometimes it's better to know the seller.
-
Pcg. It was a stickbowman signed type 1 a riser. It had holes and buyer was not happy, nor could he obtain a refund from seller. It's not uncommon for such an item to bring that kind of money in nice shape. I know this because I purchased one in April, and know the sale price on a few others. The people that Terry is mentioning Will more than likely be at Denton Hill. Look over every purchase carefully. Just a word to the wise.
-
Thanks, Shane.
-
keep in mind, anything over $400 is a felony, do not go to the police, go and report it to your Sheriff dept.. it's amazing how fast things are settled when the Sheriff dispatch a Deputy to pay a personal visit to the perb at their house.
-
Bongo,
You have a good point. I once had to contact a Sheriff department in MN. I bought a bow, and the guy cashed the money order. He left his wife, and the bow behind. The department knew this guy and his wife. ;o) I got my bow after numerous phone calls, excuses, and a visit from the Sheriff. I am still very grateful to the department for all of their efforts, and help.
-
What on earth makes a riser worth $3500? Gold inlay? Diamond arrow plate?
-
Bear only made a few hundred A-1 risers back around 1970. Then you find one that Fred personally signed and it's like new... :knothead:

I'm now hearing I might get sued....and even punched in the face....
Also found out a guy that got banned once before for breaking the rules wrote me and Rob D a nice LONG note wanting back on and apologizing and we let him back on ....now showing his true colors by joining in on the grade school antics of those are bashing us for looking out for our membership.
Its really sad to see the types of writings, from our so called 'ranks' that I'm seeing from grown men.....who only know how to name call and make physical internet threats. I mean really, all this name calling??? Name calling is the lowest form of intellect.
Anyhow, we are just trying to look out for our members that actually get what TradGang is about the best we can.
Hey....if they are bashing me, they are just giving someone else a break. :campfire:

Terry I appreciate all the hard work that goes into this site by you and the other Moderators.
I think Scumbags have a hard time accepting they are scumbags so they turn around and exhibit more scumbag behavior like name calling.
I can only imagine half the crap you put up with that never gets let out (which shows Character), is the same crap management has to deal with while working in corporations.
Its the petty rumors and gossipers that really bring hardship on themselves and the whole. I think This site is far better than the others I have been on. Its a place where everyone can enjoy, discuss, show and tell, learn and relax while not worrying about being treated with respect and dignity.
Thank you again

Terry, I too appreciate the first class forum you maintain for us. Part of what got me into traditional archery was when an old friend took me to the Berrian Springs Compton's event & I met with so many good first class people. I then quickly learned about tradgang & saw this is where these good people hang out at & I joined the forum. I'm glad to read you are keeping the riff raff out !
Thanks again,
Dan

I also have the utmost appreciation for all that you have done and continue to do, in order that we have such a great site to visit. Without you and the TG Staff's ever diligent efforts, we would not have the opportunity to enjoy the fruits of your labors. If there is anything any of us can do to help you in these efforts please let us know.
It is unfortunate there are some out there that want to create problems, no matter where you are. Keep up the great work. Thanks again.

Thanks again....heard there was chatter of revenge on me at Denton.

I didn't make it to Denton unfortunately. Seems as though something comes up every year to keep me from that place. I had high hopes of going this year, but fell through with life events. Was looking forward to hanging out with Tom, and Dave. maybe next year.
-
Being the fella who bought the Stickbowman takedown from the less then truthful guy I wanted to let everyone know it has been sold to a longtime collector. I took a licking on it and sold it for what it was actually worth all things considered.
The sad thing about this is if he would have issued me a measly $500 refund I requested none of this would have happened and his friends would all still be able to access this sight. I still would have lost some money on the deal but would have been happy with the $500. I'm just glad I don't have friends that would take me down like this guy.
-
I'm guessing that if this is how those guys spend their time, conduct themselves and do "business" with those they call "brothers".....their lives are probably already in some way miserable! Karma can be a bitch!!! :nono:

As a former Administrator/Moderator on another very large forum I can attest to the labors involved in trying to keep it free from scammers and scum bags. A very difficult and never ending job for sure. Without a doubt Terry and the others have done and continue to do a great job in these regards. Thanks to each and everyone of you!!!!
-
Thanks, Terry and keep up the great work here...it is much appreciated!
-
Ouch Gary! I sure hope that you didn't sell for less than my offer! I am very sorry that I had any part of that deal. If I only knew then what I know now. I hope that the buyer posts pics. It would be nice to keep track of the handle, and not let it be one of those never to be seen again; It's still a Stickbowman signed. What was the number again?

Be very careful about dealing with bow brokers - click on their icon and look over their posts. It is not always easy to separate the sheep from the goats.

Blame the guy responsible but not the people he associates with. If your friend did a bad deal, would you want to be blamed or "brought down" in any way? Why all the "drop" references. We get it - but its misplaced frustration.

BUY, SELL, TRADE at your OWN RISK!
DO NOT CONTACT TRAD GANG ADMIN OR MODS ABOUT BAD DEALS!
Get to know the buyer or seller (aka "the person") as best you can.
Do a forum wide search for that person, look to see when that person became a member, the number of posts made, what the person posts, how the person's posts have been received by the membership and how that person interacts with other members.
Contact other members about the person for feedback of their opinions as to the credibility of the person, and what's the person's buying/selling track record.
Get the person's mailing address and phone number - it wouldn't hurt to make a phone call chat, if possible.

Tony....I saw a nice pic of your house this AM....it was posted on someone's dropsite....you got a visit from the raine man I see...can't believe grown men act this way, and would go as far as stalking another member. Anyway...I have a snapshot of the page as proof for you and ALL to see.
Just shows me how devious they really are.

I have State Farm homeowner's insurance.
My family has used the same agent for 30 years.
I am contacting him to prepare him for any vandalism.

I have been trying to find a solution to this nightmare that does not result in harm to anybody.
Suddenly, like a bolt of lightning, the answer was clear.
It came from a conversation I had with Terry Green about how he dealt with threats of being beat up by a stranger on the internet he never met. Terry's internet enemy is the same guy who uses a rinky-dink website to send strangers to my door to terrify my wife.
Some of these other strangers love to lurk here and pretend to be TradGangers. They hate Terry Green, but they profit from his website. They have not been banned - but they are well known, and they "drop" in and out all the time. They are monitored closely, and they sometimes play their games on The Trad History/Collecting Forum. So far none of these "name droppers" has paid a photo recon tour of my house. Check them out if you are curious - they love to TTT old posts to stir the pot and ask questions to answers they already know and they already posted and answered word-for-word on their rinky-dink website. I chuckled at one I just spotted. Terry has been at this game for years, and a chuckle is as good as it gets.
Who cares about this stupid game? (Maybe Terry Green. This is his website, right?)
My real world problem is the two strangers that delight in bullying and terrorizing anybody they choose. Their stupid game, when it was lost forever, cost them money after they began abusing the goodwill of TradGang to cash out their chips. Losing their stupid game then cost my wife her sense of safety in her own front yard. I guess Rich Lopez and Jim Raine got even after all. Long after this post has faded, she will still be afraid. Hope the rest of the middle-aged "Droptine delinquents" dancing around the burning bows at their Denton Hill Camp Drunkenbozo bow burning ritual are happy with the results of this DropBomb.
Their game is over in my front yard. Terry Green and life in his neighborhood gave me the answer. Let me know if you agree.
Terry told me if a Jersey wannabe wiseguy like Rich Lopez drove to his small town in Georgia to carry out his threats, a small town Terry grew up in where everybody knows him ......
You get the point.
This is my solution and the reason I chose my close knit neighborhood to raise a family. My son, like Terry Green, grew up in our small neighborhood in Sykesville, where everybody knows him, and if a stranger came to our cul-de-sac this is what happens:
One of my neighbors is a police officer. My son and his friends have trick-or-treated at his house for years. Never needed to chat with him until yesterday. We discussed a lot of things - gun collecting as a hobby, gun safety/responsibility, and the difference between scouting deer and stalking people. So far, I did not have our officer officially report this, leave our neighborhood and continue this conversation in a nearby neighborhood. Another recon mission from Mr. Peeper would put my neighbor in uniform and on the job.
One of our other neighbors works for State Farm Insurance. State Farm Insurance is a great company and will protect my home and family from any vandalism if these strangers decide to go trick-or-treating at my home one dark night. If this happens, the State Farm Insurance company home office will be sent all of the information needed to investigate who did the damage and what instigated it, even if this happens next year. If my car is keyed, our mailbox smashed, or my wife and son are photographed by Mr. Peeper or his creepy friends, State Farm Insurance will be notified immediately. Because Mr. Peeper and friends have our license tag numbers, they better hope nobody keys our cars from this day onward.
Oh yeah - a simple two word message to Mr. Peeper.
Back Off.
One more of your photo recon tours will seal the deal. Who knows how long you have stalking us? Who knows what is recorded on your camera's memory card as trophies to share with other perverted friends? Your next mission will be recorded by our friendly neighborhood watch. You want your own wife and son terrified or humiliated like mine? I don't. If you really insist that a police investigator should knock on your door - then by all means "Bring it," Mr. Peeper.
Back off.
Tell your creepy friends to back off.
You have made a lot of enemies before me, and they have sent me PMs demanding immediate action.
So far I have protected you by acting with restraint. Don't mistake my compassion for your wife or children as weakness.
Find another way to amuse yourself. If your feelings have been hurt - get over it.
Just be very careful on your website from now, and make sure none of your buddies stirs the pot.
Like a good neighbor, someone is watching you online right now.
Now the rest of the story. My wife's father is Greek, and her mother was born in England. Her father is a computer systems engineer for SPAWAR. He is a very protective Greek Orthodox father. No rinky-dink website wants him investigating anything involving internet terrorism or photo recon missions directed at his daughter and grandson. The best man at our wedding is a commercial artist. His brother is an ex-Secret Service agent with FBI buddies. We all went to high school together.
I used to free lance for the Baltimore Sun, Baltimore Magazine, and local papers. This would make a great story, and entertain thousands of readers. All kinds of issues could be brought up as the story unfolded - cyber stalking,State Farm Insurance Company, the need for concealed carry, gun safety and responsibilty, internet bullies, invasion of privacy - you get the point, Mr. Peeper?
This story is writing itself. Most of the people reading this wrote it. Only the continued silence and retreat of two strangers will end it. If my strange new visitors want this to continue to be written and eventually published in a newspaper or magazine - keep up the harassment.
Right now I want to end it here.
Back Off.

The secret is out now I guess. They've been 'made'. I hear tell they are STILL planning to attack this site and have more fake names already registered.

Oh, and for the record, the big item that caused such a stir....he got banned, then Rich started posting on his site on 'how to sue TradGang' and I got copies of it...so that's why he was banned.
