If you can navigate around this website and post comments on threads, you can post a pic - eezy peezy. You have to attach pics to emails that go back and forth, not much difference posting them here. I'm with Paul on this one.
-
I'm with Burnsie,I suck at computer things, but it took me one try and I got it right the first time... Use Photobucket, following the instruction some one post here... So easy... Ok, easy.
-
agreed
-
I used the web link from Photobucket to post here...it still didn't work for me. Until then, I thought I had it all figured out. :(
-
Have you ever tried to upload a picture with dial-up ?
-
Geezer, you used the wrong link or it would have worked. :) If i can post pictures, anyone can. Get over your fear and practice. You can practice by pm'ing a buddy with pictures. If photobucket intimidates you, use imgur or imagelinky.
Use the preview button before you hit the add reply button and you can see if you got it right or not.
PM me and i will be happy to help you if i can. :wavey:

Maybe people don't want a photobucket account when it schould be as easy as clicking on a brouse button on this sight. I don't know why you would need other account when it could be simply done on this one like it is done on alot of other sights. Widow

Because then this site has to host the pics, rather than having them hosted off site. Hosting pics takes up lots of server space, particularly on an active board like this one. Server space costs money. Do you pay to use this board? Hence, loading them on Photobucket, Flickr, Imageshack, whatever.
It's free to use any of the above photo sites, and it's pretty darn easy. Anyone who can figure out a fletching jig can do it...

I'm guessing its the same as emailing them to some one, upload them once to PB, then post to a thread then no need to keep emailing them, over and over....which is a pain in the keister!

I know it costs for the forum to host the pics, but it makes for a nicer experience. You get more pics because its easy to add them, you have no oversize issues if you auto size them, and older threads aren't full of a bunch of red "Xs" because a pic poster removed his pics from photobucket.
The time saved hunting down oversized pics in threads and the gaudy look of 640 pix warnings all over has to be worth something. Not sure if the template this forum runs on would support it or if its even close to affordable, but it would be nice.
The public is the public. Asking them to get smarter, try harder, and follow directions is about like beating your head against the wall. At some point its just better to put a stop sign up instead of responding to a wreck at the same intersection twice a month.

May try Photobucket at some point again, but the last time I visited it I came away with so much crap on my laptop the computer folks had to take everything off and reload programs. It was nasty !!!! Had full Mcafee protection as well, they reimbursed me my cost of the program, but not the $194 I paid to have the computer repaired. :banghead:  . So if your'e wanting pics from me from Photobucket, hope you are full of patience and a good salesman ;)

When I first got my computer, I didn't know how to post photos. It took me awhile and then I learned how.
Then, some sites had maximum pixel rules, (Trad Gang is one) for posting photos and I didn't know how to reduce photos in pixel size either. I finally learned that too.
I'm like everyone else. I like to see photos with posts on TG and other sites because for me, reading a hunting post with a photo is an added bonus.
But, I never berate anyone who doesn't post photos because I remember what is what like for myself trying to learn to how post and resize photos.
-
It took me a while to figure it out even with the follow along threads. I did the auto resize when uploading them to Photobucket, they showed to be the correct size in Photobucket but when I added them to a post, they came over bigger. Never did figure out why, but I blame Photobucket. Had some pictures deleted along the way, but that is alright. I appreciate peoples(Admin.) patience whith me while I figured it out.

First off,Get back on Decaf ! LOL.I'll build you a Bow,back Quiver,Custom Knife, armgaurd,a dozen custo arrows etc, etc. But I can't do pics,I'm old senile and DON'T and I mean DON"t have the brain capacity to post pics, there its off my chest ,I feel better already.
-
I have only just learned how to save pics, and if LUCKY, I can even E-mail them. One thing at a time. Give us the "computer challenged"a break. For some of us it's not that easy
-
why can't folks post in the right forum? ;) j/k, sorta. :)
i would love for our forum software to accept uploaded user images - AND automatically resize those images no wider than 640 - but it ain't gonna happen all too soon if ever, unfortunately.
the great part about having images uploaded to the trad gang server is that they won't get moved or deleted, as too often happens to user online image accounts.
but really, using photobucket or imagelinky or any one of a buncha online image repositories is pretty easy and most allow for auto-resizing of images to the required 640 wide size.

If a person can take a photo with a digital camera(something he has to learn), then upload that picture to a computer( something he has to learn), then attach it to an email ( two things he has to learn), create a post on TG (something he has to learn), then that person should be able to learn the last step....posting a picture.
I figure is goes along with the guy that posts a question, that he can get an answer to himself by doing a Google/Yahoo/Bing search, but would rather some one else do the work for him. They also can't follow instructions as to editing a title when their item is sold.
My rant...done.

Some people just arent that great with comuters. Im one of those people. Everybody has a learning curve. I spend my extra time in the woods or outdoors, not the computer trying to figure out all the bellls and whistles of my very first computer. I figure I will learn as I go. I assume that there are alot of people on this site that are the same!
-
Some sites have the "Attach pic" button thingy..., thats alot easier than photobucket. Just saying.
-
Just used imageLinky like Tim from Braveheart suggested on tradgang/computers forum. Once you resize the pix- cut and paste, then preview to see if OK. Real ez. Of course I had my wife around just in case. Brian
