Recently, when I post pictures from Photobucket, only the link to the image appears. When I select IMG and attach it to the thread page, it appears like it always does, in numerical form. Then, when I preview the page before posting it, the photo image appears like normal. Once I post the image on the thread, I notice only the link to the image appears on the thread page instead of the image just showing up. Is anyone else experiencing the same issue?
**Correction: This is only occurring while sending PM's and not while posting on threads.**

Yes I am also when you find the fix please let me know it used to be easy now it's a pain

Let's see what happens for me. (It works for me. Just a cut and paste of the IMG url)

Copy and paste the IMG link works fine for me.

Wish I had a animal like that run through my wall. Sheesh, some people have all the luck.
-
Yup. It's working for Bisch and Greg. Not for me. I cut & paste without success. Oh well.
-
Can you try again and leave the link there? Might see a problem.
-
Here is a test.

Now it's working. Sheesh. I've noticed the problem when sending PM's. Maybe it only does it then. I was mistaken in my belief that its had occurred on thread pages. After posting this I realized that it, in fact, only occurred on PM's.
-
I see the pic, not the URL. It worked.
-
I sent you a PM of a pic. It seems to work for me.
-
Thanks, Greg.

I haven't been able to post pictures from photo bucket for several months. Used to simply tap the img version and a yellow "copy" showed up. Then I'd past in the post. Now when I tap no "copy" appears. Can't even copy the entire address and paste.
I think I made a computer change right before this began happening. There maybe some setting that I don't have right.
Bummer.

So evidently, there was a space between the letter C in my handle. It looked like this Longbowfanati c. Once Greg removed the space in the link so it looked like this (Longbowfantic) the image appeared in PM correctly. Apparently, the space doesn't cause a problem when posting to threads.

I'm not sure if you got your problem figured out but that arrow pic is awesome! Did you build that one? If so it looks like that crester and you are getting along just great.
-Jeremy
-
No. I wish I had the ability to crest like that. Those arrows were made by the very talented Ron French (Tree Killer).

I just do what you say. I click on the IMG line, the yellow copied shows up (sometimes it takes 5-10 seconds) then paste into the post. There should be no setting on the computer for that. Did you change your internet browser? I use Google Chrome. Maybe it works different on Microsoft Browsers
-
Greg,
Im using a Mac with Safari. I also just click the IMG and it says copied, then I return to TG and click edit and paste. Weird that it works correctly on thread pages, but not in PM's.

Computers are like archery. I think every once in a while the mouse gets a bad click and all bets are off. Kind of like a bad release of the string. That's my excuse anyway
-
Even worse, sometimes we do everything right and it breaks anyway. There was a widespread internet outage yesterday and every picture I've ever posted was gone for 5 hours. Magically they all reappeared early in the evening.
While often the problem exists between the chair and keyboard, it's not always the case!

I have the same problem, and I also have a Mac. Never had a problem before ,and now I can't get it to work.

I used to have great success with photobucket but any more it's a nightmare to try to use. I'm ready to give up posting here. Wish we could post directly from the computer like another site. :(

I'm in total agreement Dave. I only have iPhone access to tradgang and it is a real pain to post pics.

I haven't changed anything on my end. Man is it frustrating. :banghead:

works for me

I cant even get my picture and images running using the UBB code instructions. haha

For those that struggle with photobucket, I switched to Imgur and it seems to work more smoothly for me.
Maybe a switch would alleviate the hassle.

Jeremy: you don't post from an iPhone do you?
-
No I do not post from an iPhone.

That's when my problems began, when I got my phone. I no longer have wifi and computer.

there are several lurking issues afoot with both posting images and actually being able to login at trad gang.
POSTING IMAGES
photobucket was the premier free online imaging archive that i happily endorsed well over ten years ago. it worked extremely well, very straight forward with direct copy 'n' paste and no muss or fuss. over time, photobucket decided to change their mission directive from offering a free image archival service to a semi-paying service, and eventually they wanted to enter into social media and compete with the likes of facebook to a fair degree.
as a result, what you have today with photobucket is nothing short of frustrating nonsense since their agenda is clearly all about social media and not about just offering us a quick and easy and free way to archive our images for posting at forums. photobucket is the PITS and a real PITA to get to the core of images so they can be easily posted AND accessed for copying. and their pages of popups and ads is SO annoying - particularly for when i need to grab a hunt image and make it into a "trad gang member of the week". i've come to really hate photobucket.
the clear answer for me was to drop photobucket like a steaming 'tater off the campfire grille and find a better free image archive service. enter www.imgur.com (http://www.imgur.com) - the best totally free imaging servce i've found to date and have been using for many years. i've got over 2800 images stored with them and without any social media nonsense attached. images are easy to copy 'n' paste, can be stored in albums, are easy to duplicate and replicate anywhere. imgur even has a private mode, for private image viewing, if need be.
FORUM ACCESS
because they are not "real computers", there are known issues with mobile devices such as smartphones and ipads and tablets. mostly it's a browser problem. this is not just about trad gang, but other forums and websites as well. if you have issues accessing or logging into trad gang (or other forums and websites) with a mobile device, but no problem with a real computer, contact the mobile device manufacturer for assistance.
you might want to also check out this forum (our 'trad gang and computers') as folks with similar problems may have found solutions that apply to your device

Rob, you are not the only one who dumped the bucket. I still am working on getting images from Imgur to TradGang using my IPad.
