Title: First with my own bow.....(Bow pics, as requested!)
Post by: robtattoo on January 26, 2011, 05:43:00 PM: I just got back from four AWESOME days down in Okeechobee, Florida with Chris Horsman (Limey Chris) & his 3 wonderful hog dogs.

The dogs bayed this nice fat sow & I managed to get an arrow into her pretty quickly. She didn't take a step after the arrow took out both lungs & her heart. 20 seconds, start to finish. It doesn't get any better than that!

This is my first kill with 'Knight Breed' my 'boo backed Ipe bow that I built at last year's Tennessee Classic.

I stained the 'boo with Feibings leather dye. All over with medium brown & then faded black in the center & tips.
She's 66" & I tillered her to draw 66#@32" I actually draw this particular bow to a shade under 31" & I wanted to mke sure there was margin for error. David wasn't 100% sure it could be tillered to draw that far, but after a lot of time flexing it on the tree, it landed just perfectly.
The handle wrap is flat leather thong & the arrow rest is a small antler tip, carved & steamed to conform to the curves of the handle.
