Congrats Terry! Those are a blast with a stick and string! That hen Would make a cool mount .

I used to enjoy flinging arrows at those things in Maryland every year....only hit one or two in air the 5 years I was there....got three or four on ground as well. You should be quite proud of your game bag that day...
keep em sharp,

Congrats Terry! I went on my second pheasant hunt today and finally connected on my first flying bird. It was awesome. If you don't mind me asking, what were you using for points and did you hunt over dogs?
Congrats again,
Bisch

Too cool! I haven't been one to really want to get out and pheasant hunt but now that I have a recurve it is near the top of my list.

-

-
Congrats again bud!
-
Nice shooting!
-
Bisch.......it was a field point with a crimped collar behind it.....kinda like an upside down bottle cap......yes there were pointers. The story is on powwow. ...St Jude fins and feathers.
-
Awesome shooting, Congrats!
-
Terry, glad you made it! It was a blast. Can't wait to do it again. Hopefully real, real soon! The big thanks needs to go to the Wilson clan -- what a great family!!!
-
Way to get it done fellas.
-
What a great hunt you had. Congratulations.
-

Tha first picture is GREAT!

Cant beat flinging arrows at a flying pheasant. Good shooting. Thats what we do when we have a bird hunt, have a shotgunner for backup. With the group we have the gunner has to bring a lot of shells. :bigsmyl:

Terry,
Congrats, also one more quick question on heads, anyone use Judo's? If so were they effective?
I really don't want to shoot broadheads as I worry about the dog and the retrieve.
Thanks, ken.

1st hunt we used long field points with 'star collars'....never seen them before.
They worked good on a SOLID hit, but knocked a lot of feathers off.
We made our own heads,...least Doug and I did did for the next hunt, and so did a few others, and they worked better on the not so solid hits as well as the solid ones.
They were modified Bheads...but the head had the point ground down flat as well as the edged....they were dull while on the ground, but flying through the air they worked pretty good.

Congrats Terry, That looks like a blast!
-
Great pictures

Great pictures

I haven't even seen that many birds this year. My German Wirehair is very upset with the lack of pheasants!!! Hasn't snowed here in Des Moines but maybe a half inch total this year, I'm really hoping an easy winter and spring help the ringneck population rebound tremendously

Good shooting Terry..Looks like you had a great time..Mike
