Well, this is my first post on the highlight forum. I've been waiting to wrap up the deer season which ended (sadly) last night.
It was my first season with my new Cari-bow Wolverine longbow (53# @ 28). I love the bow! It deserved to take more deer this year including a good buck, but it just didn't happen for me. I am very thankful though for these two does... both taken with Beaman ICS Carbon shaft tipped with Woodsman broadhead.
Oct. 8, 9:30 am. 12 yard pass through shot from a pretty steep angle. She went about a 75 yards.

Nov. 11, 9:00 am. She was being chased by a spike that I had passed up 45 min. earlier. 22 yard shot. I hit her high in the spine and she dropped right there.

IMHO the only diff between a buck and a doe with a trad bow is its gender. Any time you can make a clean kill you've done something major.

No doubt that any kill is a great accomplishment with trad gear. In fact, the actual shot is often tougher with a doe because they usually aren't alone. Multiple sets of eyes make drawing without getting busted tough. But... there is just something very rewarding about taking a good buck.
