and its about time.I have been hunting with the LB for 20 yrs and taken many deer and turkey so the recurve had made a few trips into the woods and never successful. This year I bought a BW PCH X and dedicated myself to sticking to it and it pays off.
We have our annual hunt trip with some of the Cool Springs gang.I got to the camp Thursday morning to hunt the afternoon.Coming off a week from Leadership trainjg in Orlando I was ready to get in the woods.I got in a nice are I had hunted before and settled in and man did it feel good to be in the woods and not a classroom.I went in early for the evening and had sat till a tad before dusk when a couple doe came by and i got a shot off but my bottom limb said not this time as it hit stand and the arrow went goofy to the ground.
I waited a few minutes and as the days hunt is slowly coming to and end and I hear footsteps in between rain showers and I see a deer wlking to a spot i had picked earlier that would present a shot.I released an arrow and watch as the deer quartered away with and passing through her side.I thought it was low and the deer took off like being released from a cannon. The arrow stuck firmly in the ground with crimsons colors and a stinch of stomach.I was bummed. The rain came in and I decided to mark the spot and come back in the morning. It was gloomy to sat throughhaevy rain knowing the blood trail was gone for good.
Hunted for a few minutes the next morning and headed to the spot i shot.I took off in the direction i seen the deer run, crows raising cane gave the attention below where i was and there he was ran only 80 yds and piled up,no foxes or coyotes had touched it so i gave thanks and hero pics started to be taken.Another great memory created and shared with friends.
I will get a pic up soon.

Here is my table fare. The shot actually cut the stomach but came out tight under the heart. Not a monster but sure was fun just the same.I am sure Nook will be having some hero pics coming up soon...What a hunt we had...
