Hey folks, been off this site a while, life has interrupted a lot of things. Got stuff lined up for hunting season, hunted hard, no shots at deer yet. I had stepped on a nail yesterday, off from work today, decided to go hunt a blind in my back field for a couple of hours, 11am -1pm or so, due to the moon phase. After an hour in the blind, I was rewarded with a 10 turkeys cruising into the pasture, and onto a meager food plot, about half germination. First time hunting this blind this year. I waited as they clucked, scratched, fought and messed around from 12:00-12:16, seemed like an hour, before one gave me a clear shot at 10yds. I hit her high between the shoulders, back facing me, dropped her right there, flopped a few times, done. Big ole hen, I would estimate 14# or so, my 18th trad turkey! I was shooting a #48 Quinn stallion, GT 55/75 with 100gr brass insert and 150 WW Elite heads. Good to be back in the field, after very limited hunting time last year and 1/2, makes me appreciate it all that much more. I hope I can get someone to post pics for me, KY TJ usually helps out an old fart like me on this. I just thought I would share.

Great shot! If it wasnt for that nail you would've been working instead of being able to hunt. Congratulations!
