Well its opening day of gun season here in Michigan and I had to miss heading north to deer camp with my dad and brothers because everyone in my house was sick. But I managed to get out in the woods this morning behind my house. It was crisp and cold and snowing with barely a breeze. Turkeys were everywhere coming down from the trees as soon as it got light. About a half hour after shooting light a doe came by trailing this buck. I stopped him at about fifteen yards in a small gap in the brush and let him have it! I hit him through the lungs and he charged off forty yards into the brush and I heard him go down. I shot him with a hickory self bow 43#@28" and a arrow I made from a bamboo garden stake, fletched with turkey feathers from a turkey I killed last fall, and tipped with a broadhead I made out of a pounded flat spoon. It was opening day of gun season here and hunting goes drastically down hill for the next two weeks so I was happy to fill my tag even tho its just a little guy. A flat spoon? Id like to see a pic of that. That is a awesome kill with that equipment good shot too!
-
A spoon I pounded flat with a hammer and then cut into a point with a band saw and creating the edges with a sander and then a file and honing rod. The point is on the broken end of my arrow down by my gut pile somewhere because I forgot to grab it. I will go hunt it down and take a picture of it tomorrow.

Little! Are you kidding me. . . homemade gear, pounded spoon broadhead??? You should be on MI Outdoors and you should do some special mount of that deer- at least a Euro mount!!
