I started off well. Took four squirrels two days in a row with Molly. A dog is such an advantage and really adds to the fun. I always look forward to deer season winding down so I can hunt small game. 60# 21st Century bow and wood arrows. New camera Panasonic zs40.

Nice shootin brother! Congrats
-
Nice shooting. Congrats on the fine eating.
-
Thanks guys. The dog should get the credit. It's a lot easier when Molly tells me which trees they are in.
-
Outstanding.

Nice shooting! I'll never forget the first time I got to see those big fox squirrels in the flesh. I was in Indiana for 3 weeks to bowhunt with a good buddy. He had told me about the tree rats as big as house cats. I thought he was talking it up a bit, being used to only seeing the greys we have over east. Turns out he wasnt....and I remember an instance where one of those little fellas was up an adjacent tree to me about 4 ft away looking like it was ready to pounce cuz he didnt approve of my being there. I barely got out of there alive  !!!!

I live in NE Oklahoma, north of Tulsa and we have about a fifty fifty mix of fox and greys. A little further west and they are all fox squirrels. Greys are so much harder to get. Besides being a smaller target, they just don't stick around as long especially with the dog barking treed. In the pictures, one of the squirrels is a grey and that's about my average, I will get about one out of eight to be a grey. LMNS, I have been there. Fox squirrels at times show little fear of someone in a treestand and you feel like they are going to pounce on you at any time. LOL

Way to go!
Congrats,

Gordon, you are one shootin' son of a gun! I've got a good recipe for squirrel casserole if you need to change up the menu....looks like you have quite a few, so I wouldn't want ya to get tired of it too quick. Lol.
And Molly only gets half of the credit. She could find 'em for me all day long, but I doubt if I connect with anywhere near as many as you do!
-
Gordon, what kind of dog is Molly? Nice shooting!
-
Greg, she's a Boykin Spaniel. Over the years, this is my third Boykin. All were good squirrel dogs but probably not as good as a mountain cur. Great companions but they need lots of attention.
-
Great shooting!!!
-
Congrats on the nice mess of squirrels!

We have 2 that are so big from stuffing themself with feeder corn they look morbidly obese! Nearing 4-5lbs!

fire up the BBQ

Nice bag of squirrels. My dog can't see very well anymore, sad times for him.
-
A 4 to 5 lb corn fed squirrel....bet they'd be as tasty as you could get one to be!
-
WOW!
I haven't taken 4 squirrels in my 33 years of bowhunting!
Good shooting!!
-
Awesome shooting
-
Squirrel hausenpheffer over homemade egg noodles....hmmmm, one of my favorite dishes.

Thanks again guys. I finished off the rest of the BBQ squirrel tonight. I love venison but squirrel is better in my opinion.
