Title: Pig Double Up!!!
Post by: on September 01, 2015, 10:04:00 PM
Well, I had a great morning pig hunt this morning. Doubled up, and stuck two! I walked into my stand at 5:15am to find the pigs were already there. The moon was full, so I could see pretty well. I snuck in as close as I could, about 25yds, when a pig strolled out of the trees 8yds in front of me. He made it thru the opening before I could really even think, but I got an arrow out, and then another one walked out about 12 yds in front of me. I took the shot. The hit sounded good, but I could not see my arrow. I thought I heard him crash, but was not sure. I started to walk into the stand when the rest of the pigs came running back in. I crouched down and waited. There were a dozen or more pigs there. After about 15 minutes, another one ventured towards me, and I shot him at about 10yds! I had 2 pigs shot before 6am!!! These were the first two critters taken by me off my new hunting lease.

This one only made it 25yds, and I did hear him crash!

This one was hit just a tad back, but he still only made it about 50yds.

Way to go "Uptop" ,Bisch's new name. Send me the combo to the gate just in case.  Them boys don't know how much havoc Jeryy will cause them for eating his corn. Bob

Nice pigs.  Did you have a string tracker on that bow?

I had my string tracker on the bow, but did not use it. It was dark, and when I walked up the pigs were all around me. I was afraid to make the extra movement to try to get the string on the arrow in the dark, so I just went without the string for this hunt. Normally, I always use it.

Yeowee!  Both are perfect size for tender eating.  You'll want to save some room for deer in your freezer. That's some lease you got going there Bisch.
