I've got a buddy shooting a 55 lb longbow at 28". He's going to use the GT Traditionals and is asking what point weight to use.

That question is unanswerable on the internet. Only first hand tuning will tell him which point weight will work the best for him.

Far too many unknown variables to recommend a ball park point weight.
