After five years of not shooting traditional and today only being my third day back at it I did some shooting this morning after work. I started off fair and then was red hot (for me) and then I couldn’t shoot accurately at all. If I really focused I could half of the time get my group if I really focused I could half of the time get my arrows to group but nowhere near the bull (generally to the left) I feel like I may be releasing way too fast . Along with a lot of other things I’m sure . I put a link to a video I made when I was shooting good. If anyone can catch/pick up on anything from the video I’d really appreciate it.

I don't understand why so many, lately, THINK this is an angle of video that shows ANYTHING!! If you want help with your shot, there are really just 2 angles for the video.
First, is face to face, camera at eye level and showing your entire body feet to head and string arm elbow to bow hand when you are at full draw. Sun or lighting behind the camera and not behind the shooter. If behind the shooter, all details are too dark to see.
Second, is a camera position that is elevated, looking down on you and looking down the arrow line, towards the target. BUT showing you NOT the target.
Where your arrows are hitting is of no particular importance for this kind of video help and especially a "target's eye view."
I love trying to help folks but really need something to work with.

I’m sorry, Arne. I live alone and have no one to hold the camera. I tried sitting the camera on my lawn mower but that didn’t work. I had intended on making a better video this weekend when I had someone to hold the camera but not knowing if I could make that happen I figured I’d post it anyway. But I’ll delete the post if it will let me. I’m new to this and apparently in the way. I’ll teach myself like I did before.

I still shouldn’t have posted such a lousy angle. I’m just excited. I remember learning years ago from your YouTube videos about anchoring under the cheek, keeping a relaxed wrist/forearm/wanting to feel the bone on bone, raising the bow and bringing the bow/arrow from the left to right into target.stsnding straight like a fence lost. Some of that, all of it may be wrong, haha. I’ve been storing that information for over 5 years. And I’m just now trying to brush back up on it.

I tried to watch your video, and got the message, “This video has been removed for violating YouTube’s terms of service.” Do you have any idea what this means? I’ve seen hundreds of YouTube videos, some of which should probably be removed for violating something or another, but never for being a demo of an archery shot.

I’m not sure. It shows it’s still working on my end. I’ve only put a few videos on YouTube so I may have something set up incorrectly.

Maybe someone else will chime in. Evidently it worked on Arne’s computer. Could be an iPad thing or something, but it doesn’t work on mine.

I saw it originally but now is gone from my computer too. Maybe someone got over zealous at You tube?? Can't be too careful with these "weapon" related posts!! :archer:

are you releasing before you get to anchor, if so it will go right as the spine stiffens.

Since it has been some time since you shot, I would suggest that one of the best things you can do is begin Jim Casto's target panic program.
