This is my first go with carbons and recurve.
56# at my 28" draw Gold Tip 400"s with 205 grain point and 24grain insert My arrows are 29 inches in length and I have a dozen of them and don't want to buy any more. My GPP is 8.5,,should I add tubes to increase to 10 GPP for hunting which is all I do with target practice for hunting. No tournaments, etc. Advice welcome

i'd recommend more point weight for higher foc
-
You can add weight--- i use weed whip line. Probably more desirable next time you buy arrows go a bit stiffer so you can add weight up front. That being said i think you are just fine with 8.5 gpp.
Good luck.

I'd also get stiffer arrow and more point weight. If you are set on using what you have try to find some rubber tubing that will fit snug inside the arrow so it rattle and shake around.
-
Use Gold Tips threaded weight system to add weight up front.

Couple things you can do is weight tubes, or weed eatervstring comes in different sizes cut you a piece about half inch longer so knock will push it tight and keep it from rattling inside the shaft. Found its easier and cheaper this way. However you can change the spine a little which will cause arrow flight issues. I hunt with my set up comes it about like yours as far as g.p.p. anything over 8 you should be ok.

Don't know your current side shelf set from center.
Provided it is feasible, shimming the side plate out an 1/8" may permit you to utilize a 75 gn insert based on your current setup and yield an approximate 9.7 gpp.

What friend said. It’s easier to tune your bow to your arrows if they’re close. Cheaper too.

8.5 will work O.K. if your bow is quiet enough. I would prefer over 9 GPP Anything over 500 grains. If you are tuned you can't just add weight up front for a higher FOC without messing up your tune. If another 25 to 50 grains up front still flies well for you that sure would be the easiest way to go. >>>>-----> Ken
