Hi guys!
I made a vídeo of a building a kind of asiatic bamboo bow, but without long siyahs and horn.
It ends a little weak 23lb @28", but I think if it was short, maybe I get a high pondage.
Hope you like.

VERY NICE WORK!! Both the design and building of the bow, and the making of the video. Very well done indeed.

Very interesting, nice bow. Which Brazilian wood do you consider to be the best in a bow made from one piece?

I heard pequia is a nice one, but never do it for myself.
I tried with some of Rosewood, Guajayvi, iron wood, Cherry and "pau marfim", with good results.

Thanks for sharing your build-alongs. I have been enjoying them. What was the wood you used in the handle?

It's a wood called "Tatajuba", with a strip of "Marupá" inside of it.

Good video. Thank You for posting.
How did you recurve the ends?
I saw the form you used, but no heat, I think.
What made it stay in place?
-
The little bit of recurve he added was glued in, and then extended by a glued on tip extension. I suspect even more reflex could be glued in, especially with lower draw weight bows.
-
That is totally bada#%! I have tons of bamboo, what do you think can be done to increase the draw weight?
Could you use a single piece of bamboo as opposed to splicing?
Finally I saw you added tips after tillering. Did you go back and tweak it?
Beautiful video man. Great job. I will give that a shot.

You need thick-walled bamboo, and you want the outer skin to be the belly, and the inner part to be the bak. That way to tiller to the weight you want by thinning down the back only, while its on a bastard string.
