I so appreciated the many people who offered encouragement and input thru my prostate cancer treatment via radiation and I felt led to share that, finally, it's over....
Well, the 39 weekday treatments are over today! :) That's all they give you for it and mid April I get a first PSA test to see if the #s have dropped at all, but they warned me it might take some time for the #s to start dropping...
Finger's crossed it will show some lowering of PSA #s out of the chute, but if not, it doesn't mean it didn't work, it's just one of those deals where one has to go on faith and accept whatever is God's will.
So, after some hiccups with some irritating ramifications, Daily Treatments are over...now for my innards to heal up and things to perhaps return to something more "normal" by way of normal elimination habits...
Again, thanks for the many prayers, well wishes, pm's and emails...
Ain't outa the woods yet but got a compass bearing on it! :)

:clapper: :shaka:  So very Happy to hear that Doc and now go soak in a Hot tub and relax and  that our Heavenly Father will bring those numbers down and stay down. I know it's been like a Bull ride and you made the whistle with some soreness but you hung in and did well my friend.
Take it easy for a few days and maybe go get that garden of yours turned over and prepare to plant some vegetables for the summer to get your mind off of worrying for the wait on the numbers.
Alleluia and the hard part is now in the past brother.Thank you for the updates and we will continue in prayer every day for those numbers to drop .
-
Bless your faithful hide, Keith...
First, I ain't got no hot tub! 2nd, I ain't worrying, but I'm just not ready to celebrate like the folks at radiation suggested.
It's all in God's hands, so my ONLY job is to accept graciously whatever is granted me...that alone will be a tall order and Lord knows he didn't make me a patient person, so the wait will have it's moments. :knothead:
Ground here is waaay too wet to work and more rain due Thursday and next week so the garden will have to wait, too....
They even gave me a "graduation" certificate...

Thanks, 4D and Tony VD,
With all the caring I got back when this mess started, I wanted to report on this newest milestone...
Time will tell the final result...

Thank you, Gilbert!
Yup, they be done and now it's trying to get over the symptoms of the treatments...won't happen in a couple days, I am afraid... :0
Pushing to do stuff like cleaning...ugh! kinda nice to have a reason to feel washed out and lazy!
(besides being old)
-
Great news! Prayers it all goes well! Much to wet here as well, but could still start compiling a list of what you want in the garden if you haven’t! Congrats!

Dave it's wonderful to hear that you have finished your treatments :shaka:. I have a CT Scan on April 4th and follow up with the Doctor on the 10th to see if my treatments worked. You're still in my prayers.
-
Given your situation, LR, I truly appreciate your words!
I"m told now it might take "time" to see the PSA #s drop...
Hurry up and wait! :saywhat:
-
Hopefully, this is the end of a long and troublesome journey. Best of luck as things move along.
-
Thanks, Sam!
Today's sermon for Lent was on NOT TO WORRY... it's a bit unnerving to go thru this, deal with the side effects and then know NOTHING about the success or failure, but I think at this stage the only concern I really have is about my salvation, given I don't do everything we're told to do in the bible.
not sure why I shared that ...but ...there it is!
Sure, I'd like to be cured and get the Doc's suggested 15 years from treatment, but they'll go so fast at this point, it doesn't really matter as much as what follows...
-
Doc,
I think the Holy Spirit wanted you to say that and I sent you an email about something I saved about our Salvation. Funny how God works in ways we can't understand but I want to share something with you .So go read that email my Brother
-
I read it and replied, Keith...thank you so very much for sharing!
I won't tie up bandwidth here to massage my musings, but I shared a bit back with you...
Thanks to all.
AS some say of the samurai, not seeking death but to stand in the face of it fearlessly, is a goal of mine, whenever it comes...
-
Doc, I'm overjoyed to hear the treatments are done! That doesn't mean I'm taking you off the prayer list by any means, tho! Best wishes for a complete recovery and clean bill of health, may the Lord grant you many years of trouble-free enjoyment!
-
Thanks, Cap'n! I can use it... :)
-
Doc, glad the treatments are over. You have been in my prayers daily.
-
Thanks, Fred,
I appreciate prayers immensely... Nothing has "improved" over the way it was 7 days ago, but it takes time, I'm sure!
-
Hi Dave, been out of touch for a bit...sorry to hear that you've had quite the ordeal. Sounds like the outlook is getting brighter...usually does when one keeps their eyes on the Son! Prayers sent.
-
Thanks, brother...
Almost 2 weeks but still running to restrooms seemingly constantly... up early today as got a rare invite to turkey hunt! Colder then...well, it's COLD!... Going at someone else's spot leaves one unsure of what to expect...sorta like radiation treatments! :):)
Looking for improvement anytime now!
-
That's Great! Good Luck.
-
The hunting lived up to it's name...guy showed a bit early, then we stopped for coffee (I do that before by getting up earlier) but he has big trouble sleeping so he was awake since midnight...
We were outa the woods by 8 and back at the truck by 8:30, drove around some, then home by 10! Still up every 2 hrs going tinkle...hope that soon lets up
-
Glad you got to go out hunting today Doc cause you sure needed some time to be in Gods great Creation.
I think even if you don't even see a Turkey its just great to be out smelling the new growth sprouting in the woods. Last week I got a good smell of that big leafy Skunk cabbage starting to sprout up in the low wet areas while stump shooting with The Traditional Bowhunters of Md. at a nearby farm of a friend.
Still praying you get more relief each day with the visits back and forth to the rest room and that those numbers go down. :archer:

Thanks, Tom and welcome to Trad Gang! Love your signature line...
As for your well wish, as I've said before, it's all in God's hands at this point, as it is with us all!
