Title: Prayers for our 7 year old Darci
Post by: Keefer on April 13, 2019, 06:19:08 AM
Some may recall our youngest of three daughters was born without any thumbs and she had her left index finger moved over to the thumb position in Dec. 2017 and God answered "Our" prayers.
So now we come to you again Father to answer our prayers for her operation on her Right hand this Monday April 15 as the Surgeons will attempt to straighten her right hand and Cast it to straighten her wrist area.
She won't be getting the index moved to make a thumb and not certain if the Dr's can but may at a later date.
Please if you all will pray for little Darci with us I ask in Jesus name.
Thank you ALL Prayer warriors

Thank you All for those prayers and Darci's surgery went very well Thanks be to God !
She is still up to Sinai Hospital in Baltimore and has to spend a second night up there due to making sure she can handle being off the "Iv" meds . and take  oral meds. for her pain.
My wife is with her and I have two other daughters at home to care for .
Praying she can come home tomorrow and please pray for Travel mercy's for my wife cause it gets a bit crazy up there.
Darci had a almost 90 degree turned right hand at the wrist area and born with no thumbs. As some remember her left index finger was moved to the thumb area in 2017 and that looks very good now. The same surgeon took the right hand and from my understanding of the procedure they had to cut a wedge on the wrist and remove some bone and then move hand in a some what straight position and instead of pins he put a metal plate or hardware to hold the wrist in a straight position.
She has drain tubes on and they are also monitoring that and making sure she can tolerate being on tylonal  with minimal prescription meds.
She played shooting hoops today in the play room and been walking around so that is a good sign.
I talked to her last night and Face timed her and she is a strong little 7 year old and I just Love her so much as I do all the girls God has Blessed my wife and I with through Adoption.
We used to have a magnet on our vehicles with these words."Adoption The Loving Option"!
Also as we near the time when Jesus died for Our sins and was raised we are reminded He has Adopted us when we trust in Him!
Thanks again prayer warriors and Happy Easter to all.

Prayer Warriors we Thank you all for your prayers and Darci is doing remarkably well and just a little children's Tylenol for her pain . Tomorrow we take her back up to Baltimore as they remove the splint and bandages and install a Hard cast she must wear for 6 weeks . We will hopefully get to talk to the Surgeon on exactly what he placed as far a s hardware and how much of the wrist bone he had to remove or grind to straighten her arm.
I should have a better explanation of what that is called but my wife just went for a walk while I'm typing this update to you all and she knows what its called.
So If you will and don't mind can you pray for travel mercies and a good report for tomorrow (Monday) for us as we head up to Baltimore ? Thank you all and Happy Easter ..

Travel anywhere after a holiday is a caution but on 695 or thereabouts, it can be a real challenge so you got the prayers!

Bring em back home...

Whatever they did is called doesn't matter much---I'd call it a minor miracle they can even do such things... Nice to know such is possible today, with God's help thru them surgeons!

A Big Thanks to everyone once again for the prayers and travel Mercies.
Darci did get the soft wrap taken off yesterday and a hard cast put in place to keep hand straight for 3 weeks instead of 6 now. The Dr. said her bone is knitting or mushing and the plate appears to have 6 screws holding her wrist area straight. She will have this throughout her life we are told.
Now there was some expected swelling and a long incision up her wrist area and I shared a picture with Doc and if he wants to post it that's fine with me.
Darci has pretty much no pain she says and just a little children's Tylenol if need be. She ended up with a pink camo pattern because the Dr. had no green or green camo she wanted to have on for her Daddy.
Talk about a Sweetheart and she cares for others for sure. God truly Blessed us with these three girls for sure.
She will get therapy and a night time splint when the cast comes off to help in keeping her wrist area straight now.
To see it go from a near 90 degree inward turn to a straight hand is a Miracle in itself and there are some great Dr's out there.
Maybe later I can get some cute little pose's for you all so you can see this little creature! :biglaugh:
In the "Meantime" here's an ornery one of her a while back lol..

Keith,

I think i'll pass on posting that pic!  Folks might not want to see that with their din-din!  :saywhat: :scared:

While the repair surgery is amazing, that the wee one went thru that and only needs Kiddie tylenol is truly amazing!

Lots of older folks have plates and screws; but she'll need to be careful as I've also known some who had them, especially in their back and broke screws loose! Not good...  :o

NO resemblance to yer ugly mug, that's for sure!  Thankfully! :):)

You sure do have some pixies for your 3 "china dolls"... the oldest's pic you sent me is going to give her adopted daddy fits! She's got it going on! :)

That scroochy face one sure shows how that wrist was malformed... That pic post surgery you shared showing that gruesome scar is a world of difference... That one digit, sure looks almost like a thumb, but it's a bit startling to see only 4 digits on that hand...

But what a sweet, sweet chile... :)  You be one lucky dude there, Keefer!

Understood... she's too prim and pretty in the last pic and the wrists don't show so it was a given it was pre-surgical...

Those girls are just beautiful lil' ladies!

Keith,
My wife Jian and I have been following your posts closely.  My son KaiYi (9yo) was born in China.   He and his mommy Jian fly to their home town (village) in South China annually.  This year they have a goal to find our own Darci.

I am so happy to know of Darci's successful surgery and that she has the best parents in the world!   :archer:

Tony,
That is Awesome news and so glad you all follow. We used to have blogs when we flew over and it showed our daily journey each day when we adopted all the girls.  Not sure if I am spelling this correctly but Ande was from the Jiangxi and Kaci &Darci were both from Jiangsu Province . Our oldest now 13 wants to go on a Mission trip to the orphanage Steven Curtis Chapman had built in memory of one of his daughters he adopted from China. Not sure anyone knows him but he wrote the most beautiful song called "When Love takes you In"? and it was so inspiring and moved both my wife and I with a nudge from dear friends to go and adopt our girls.
Then Steven and his wife tragically lost one of their daughters when his son came home from graduation and I believe her name was Maria  (I'll check on that) ran out to greet him and he accidentally didn't see her as he drove up the lane . I'll leave it at that but the son took it very hard. Anyway Ande wants to go see the orphanage they have there when she gets older and can save up the money.
Tony we will pray all go's well and I'm excited for you and your family. :clapper:

Tony and anyone else this video will touch the hardest of hearts and I actually tear up every time I watch it.With friends showing me this video God opened my wife and my hearts like never before. So Doc grab a tissue and watch this as well I dare you  :readit:

Tried to watch it Keith, but these old ears can't make out the words in most videos...at least on the computer AND on a radio, so I'm guessing it's ME... You ever find it with the lyrics share that... pretty video though!

here ya go Doc...

"When Love Takes You In"

I know you've heard the stories
But they all sound too good to be true
You've heard about a place called home
But there doesn't seem to be one for you
So one more night you cry yourself to sleep
And drift off to a distant dream

Where love takes you in and everything changes
A miracle starts with the beat of a heart
When love takes you home and says you belong here
The loneliness ends and a new life begins
When love takes you in

And somewhere while you're sleeping
Someone else is dreaming too
Counting down the days until
They hold you close and say I love you
And like the rain that falls into the sea
In a moment what has been is lost in what will be

When love takes you in everything changes
A miracle starts with the beat of a heart

And this love will never let you go
There is nothing that could ever cause this love to lose its hold

When love takes you in everything changes
A miracle starts with the beat of a heart
When love takes you home and says you belong here
The loneliness ends and a new life begins
When love takes you in it takes you in for good
When love takes you in

Keith,
Good job on the spelling!

Of the four years I spent in China, more than two of em were near and/or in Hefei City.  We visited an orphanage in south Anhui.  At the time there were no little ones available there...they were all apparently moved to an unknown destination.  At that time "throwaway" children were many.

Tony,
Thank you and if you know me I had to ask my oldest daughter how to spell the province she came from.  :biglaugh:
I am about as dumb as they come on spelling correctly and turning 56 this year I'm losing my 'How do ya spell this" and "What was I just about to do" and "Where the heck did I put that"! :banghead:
P.S. Tony disregard that I just looked up your handle to see how old you were and you have 11 years on me lol..You already know but remembered all them Lyrics without missing a lick.

Thank You All once again Prayer Warriors for praying for a Great report for Darci and Travel Mercies.
All went well with the removal of the cast and Darci's arm reconstruction so she can "Now" have a straight arm from elbow to wrist area.
She has to take therapy once we get it set up with the insurance company but Praise be to God for directing the Surgeons hands as he installed a plate and screws in Darci's arm.
The stitch's were removed and now she has to wear her cast as a splint.
They cut it in half and added padding and Velcro so she can now slip it on at school or playing and remove whenever she needs a break.
She will get another splint or two made as she develops strength and mobility but ALL IN ALL just a miracle from He whom created this little sweetheart.
Thanks once again everyone and Blessings to you as well.
