Title: Probably stupid question
Post by: anchorman on April 30, 2019, 03:32:08 PM
Havetake down bows that I shot pretty good bought me a black widow one piece and after first nifht of shooting I am now shooting lights out and wouldnt trade or sell it. For kicks I grabbed both bows the other night because friends tell me I shoot a one piece far better than any take downs. When I was shooting them the other night I'm hitting about 6-8" left with takedown and right on the money with blackwidow..guess I'm curious as to some of the reasons this could be. I know bows dont all shoot the same. Can not being cut past center enough be a cause?  Thanks

Not cut to center can be a cause for left misses for a RH shooter. However, takedown bows are usually cut past center.

If you’re grouping good and happy with your form, you can move your POI to the right by using a softer strike plate, such as a rug rest. I use a Martin rug rest.

If you aim the arrow and not the bow it doesn't make a bit of difference how deep the riser is cut. The only thing the depth of cut affects is the arrow spine needed to tune well. I'm betting that what you're seeing is a tuning issue.

I've been shooting this bow for 2 years and have no issues if arrow flight and have tuned it. Pretty safe to say its not a tuning issue, its got to be in the way I grip or head position from one to the other..I was just trying to shorten the curve as to figure it out..thanks for all the help..I do appreciate it
