He wanted a 9” chef with red/black/red spacers or liners because it’s his favorite sports teams colors and seemed to like the chunk of stabilized redwood burl that I had on hand. Other than that he left the rest up to me. I made this one from AEBL with an almost flat convex grind and 800 grit hand rubbed finish which should be easy to maintain. While the grind/sharpening look off in the photo, that’s just the angle of the camera. It is indeed symmetrical. The handles are stabilized redwood burl and stabilized bigleaf maple burl with G10 spacers. The mosaic pins are handmade. I think he’s going to like it...
