440c or D2? Which would you choose for a hunting knife (skinning and processing)?

Follow up questions...where to find stabilized bocote scales?

Looking to make a knife or set to match my bow.

I personally prefer D-2. It has more chrome and will hold an edge a little better.
Although it is a little harder to sharpen.

I’d do D2. As for the bacote, just google some in sizes you want. If you can’t find the exact figure your after already stabilized then have it sent to K&G and they can do a great job for you. They are kind of an industry standard for stabilization work.

Sounds like D2 has the votes. Going to try to make a couple of new knives to match my new bow. I’ve done a couple hidden tang knives before but going to try to make a couple of flat tangs.
