I haven’t been in the best of spirit lately and been somewhat very bummed if that means anything.
I have been noticing a big change the last few years as I get up very early like 3:30 am and prepare for work and seem to do the same ole same ole every week and not getting much time in the pleasures of life, family and hobbies like Traditional bow hunting .
I am very happy and blessed to have a job But I absolutely hate it and feel overwhelmed each month trying to tend to 93 apartments with daily work orders to fix whatever, yearly inspections and apartment turnovers as well which at times been 2 to 3 a month and I basically work alone. I have some help but don’t have daily help and as I age I am getting worn out.
I will Never take a Salary job again if I ever do something else but nice having a pay check to feed the family and I’m blessed I know but to be honest I’m tired and feeling overwhelmed as I mentioned.
Depression comes and goes and I am fighting it with prayer and asking if some of you folks will lift me up ?
I have tried to go in my shop and make a string, sharpen broad heads, or anything that might take my mind off it but even that doesn’t help.
I will feel good and go start something and then stop and put down whatever it is and go sit or lie down and wait for it’s time to go work again so to speak.
I go to a church every Sunday with my girls and do a few things but it seems my wife likes to shop and takes the girls to the mall which I absolutely hate going to.
My siblings are all in their own things so I only seem to see them during Funerals or run into them somewhere .
My wife does the exact same thing every year as far as Thanksgiving ,Christmas, and Easter making dinner for us and her mother and sister but those
Two never seem to make anything or half time don’t show up or call and tell us they decided not to come.
Now come a late October early November I get the smell of Fall and if I get to hunt a few days I love to sit and take in the Smell of Fall if you know what I mean?
Is it just a part of life, age or just being overwhelmed at times it’s everyday things we all do ?
Anyway I need to get out of this funk I’m in and trying but my fellow Brothers and sisters will you pray for me...
Thank you and appreciate all that will.God Bless Keefers

It sounds like you are going through a time like most of us have experienced at one time or another. Have you really examined what type of work you really want to do? I have had some jobs that I didn't like, and that greatly influenced my feelings on other things. It seems that finding work you can tolerate should be high on your list of things to do. Also, it might be a good idea to discuss your feelings with your wife. You stated that you feel depressed quite often, and that should be addressed with a medical professional. Your many friends will be in prayer for you, but you have got to take appropriate action to do what is best for you and your family. Good luck.

Sounds like M L C
Try looking to Gods face Instead of his hands.
When I have been like that it helped me to read the book of Ecclesiastes.
Here is a website that has the entire Bible in many translations.

Thank you everyone for your Prayers ,email and text! Trying to change the "Inner" man as our Father instructed us is something I thought would be easy once I accepted His only begotten Son Jesus as my Lord and Savior as I know many of us battle with this change in how we are to be.
This Oct 31st will be 20 years God has released me from drinking alcohol mainly beer and also the cigarettes that He also removed the desire I had as well.
After that I started to indulge in food and the weight started to ad each year.
Seems that devil will throw a stumbling block or a snare as soon as we win victory over the poison we do to ourselves doesn't it?
Sometimes I think what if I just go and drink one beer to relax from all the struggles I have heck I got this thing licked BUT I am reminded by the Holy Spirit Christ left that I need to keep the vessel clean and I have a weakness to over do it . Mainly I wouldn't be happy with just one drink but 1 case maybe.
Anyway that isn't a struggle honestly I just reflect back on those victory's He has given me to overcome but now being Bummed and not wanting to do anything.
Well as I traveled to work this week early in the morning to play catch up on some work I saw a couple yearlings with a doe and then another doe, A nice Big buck ,Possums I slowed down to let those poor ugly critters cross the road and couple raccoons and it was as If God was just sending me a little God wink letting me know He is watching over me. The cool mornings with that Autumn smell has lifted my spirits this week as well.
Then reading those who are praying for me also has lifted quite a bit of that "bummness" as well.
I also reached out to one of my friends I have come to know here years ago who doesn't visit here or any Traditional sites anymore named Lee Hoots.
He made a special recurve for me in 2011 I think with scripture Psalm 127v3-5 script on it for several special gifts God has given my wife and I and that is our three adopted Girls.
Lee said I'll pray right now for you and he did . Then he said he was going to Pa. with some friends to hunt.
He text me with 2 does he taken with great shots on them and also an 11 point buck as well. He filled his tags .
Well just seeing He was out an about doing what we love to do was good medicine for my soul.
Then 1/4 Away sent me some pictures of a Bobcat hanging near his blind with some deer pictures as well.
A guy I know here in my neck of the woods texted me a few pictures of a Mountain Monarch static recurve he just got from Big Jim that had a tip damage from the delivery truck a few weeks back but Jim took care of it and sent it back quickly.
Those little things with the smell of fall has really lifted me as a reminder our Father hears us and knows what we need.
I thank you God for your Son Jesus and my friends here .
God Bless you all and again Thank you for taking the time to pray for me .

That is a fine testament to God's work in any of us, Keith... I think that churches have promoted "feel good religion" to hopefully bring people into the fold...
My reading suggests that while the formula is quite simply to "believe" there is considerable hard work we're to do as we grow in Christ... if it were all that easy, wouldn't all do it?
Not to discourage anyone, but when I say "hard work" I am speaking of mostly changing one's behavior, attitude and taking captive our own sinful thoughts...
I once was exposed to the idea that as we grow closer to God, Satan chooses to ramp up his attention to us as he's fearful he's loosing us...so, that when things are the most challenging, is when we can smile and know we must be getting closer to God as that is when Satan, will ramp up his challenges  :clapper:

Btw, Keith, Congrats on 20 yrs of sobriety...that's no easy task right there and I concur that the Lord helped strengthen you, but the fight never ends, does it? Satan hates to loose... :(

Doc,
You are correct it doesn't get easier and Satan knows his time is short so he toss'd every thing one could ever imagine that could distract us from drawing closer to our heavenly Father.
Jesus knew this torment will be heavy for most so He took our punishment for us If we believe and confess our sins and ask Him into our hearts.
Thanks for your email as well Doc and praying your PT numbers are low and stay low.
I went and tried sharpening my broadheads this morning and push myself to do something in my shop.
Then I came inside opened a family photo book my sister gave all my brothers and I on our family for Christmas in 2017 and looking back at my great great grandparents on up till a few years ago.
Those were the good old days when you saw smiles and family's together before cell phones, computers and social media took over.
I guess after my Dad passed away in July I have been reflecting on that a lot and how I miss "Family".
We all have to go through good times and bad But knowing we have Jesus and a Loving Father sure makes things better.
Again thank you all...

Thanks, Keith... as I say often, "even a blind hog roots up an acorn now and then"
Sounds like you're working thru the doldrums, at least you're finding a path... :bigsmyl:
