I just got back from my Shrew Haven deer camp and I wanted to share something with you. Henry Bodnik who is producing the Shrew bow now surprised me with a new Shrew in left hand in the lower weight that I'm shooting now. The difference in this Classic Hunter II is the length of the bow and a new German fiberglass on the limbs. The glass is blemish free and even though it's a rich green color that is reminiscent of green glass of the 1960's, this glass is somewhat translucent. I could see some dark lines of the curly birch veneers through the glass.
I gave Henry some suggestions for a name for the new glass "Supreme Green" or "Emerald Mist"....anyone like these names or do you have another suggestions?
Below is a video link that Henry posted on Instagram of me shooting the bow for the first time. I was pleasantly surprised that the bow even though light weight liked a stiffer arrow with a 175gr broadhead.
I hunted all week with the bow but didn't get a chance to test it's killing power

Emerald Mist sounds great and has a romantic quality to it.
"Green with Envy" has a nice ring to it.
Green Machine
The Hulkster
Iguana
Green Dreams
The Irishman
Green Velvet
Spring Green

Saint Pat Special.
Evergreen
Time for another beer.A green beer.

Emerald Mist does have a nice ring to it.
-
Emerald Mist sounds good or "ShamRock" "Knock em down with a Shamrock" :jumper:
-
"Jackpine Green"
-
Emerald Mist gets my vote. Green sounds just too green. :bigsmyl:
-
I really love the look of that bow! Very pretty. I would like one of those, and I've actually long been wanting to get a Classic Hunter back in my lineup of Shrews.
For me, "mist" just doesn't do it. I'll cast my vote for Shamrock. I think Keefer's got a good one there. I also like Supreme Green.
I'll vote, as well, to have that video archived in the Shooter's Form Forum.
Great work Ron. I look forward to getting a hold of one.

How ‘bout Grüner Spitzmaus Jäger (green shrew hunter).
Obviously you can hunt other things besides tiny mice :biglaugh:
-
Seriously, I really like the looks of that bow. Henry and Chris did well.
-
I like "Grüne Jäger", adds a bit of flare. (Green Hunter)
-
I like "Grüne Jäger", adds a bit of flare.
Yep, I like this suggestion. Very unique 👍👍

That's a fine-looking bow. I like "Jackpine Green" myself. Nice one Roger.
-
Are these available as two piece? I know that Bodnik Bows (main bowyer -Christopher Unger) do two piece version of their bows...
-
Aurora Green.
-
Gorgeous bow. I like the Emerald Mist moniker.
-
I like Roger's "Jackpine Green".
***Or how about "Jaeger Green"? (hunter green) --->Henry sells the German Jaeger Broadheads after all.
I don't like Emerald Mist because we already have Northern Mist / Steve Turay out there. I had a similar reaction to when Henry named the Mohawk model bows, we had Vince making Mohawk longbows here stateside, though Vince is retired from it now.

Grüne Jäger! I love that...
OkKeith

How about Shrew's White Pine Green...thinking back to Michigan's rich logging history, and all the stands of White Pine that used to be in our great north country.

Forest Green ???

Grasslands
Sassy Grass
The Celtic Queen
The Celtic King

I like both Green Mist and Grune Jaeger.

I like Forest Green, how about Michigan Mist Green????

Aurora borealis
-
How about "Forest Emerald"?
Refers to the color, and to a "gem" of a hunting weapon...
-
Jade
-
Lincoln Green, from the story of Robin Hood.
-
Ok If you don't like "Shamrock" How about this one "Little Leprechaun"?
"Little Green bow Full of Luck" :dunno:

Ray nailed it I think with the Robinhood reference . Lincoln green.
My picks now are Lincoln Green or Jaeger Green
-
How about "Green Envy"? or "Sealgaire Green", ( Irish/Gaelic for Hunter Green ).
-
How about "GREEN SIBERIAN TIGER"?? :biglaugh:
-
EMERAL MIST!!!
-
That is a cool looking bow. I like emerald mist the best also.
-
I kinda like Jade. My longbows all have one word names, recurves have two, just because.
-
Mr Grinch, That's a beauty. I believe that is the best looking "old school" green bow that I have ever seen. Nice!!
-
Beautiful bow! I like Emerald Mist or Forest Green.
-
Maybe the obvious has been missed??? Shrew Hunter Green????
Jason
-
Very nice!
-
Jaeger Meister.... Which is green and literally means Master Hunter
-
An old man hunting on the ground is safer than an old man hunting in a tree....I stopped hunting from tree stands three years ago...when I turned 80.
We hunted from the ground in the 60's because it wasn't legal to hunt from a tree, and we still killed deer.
I think this little Classic Hunter with "Emerald Mist" glass is going to work out just fine.

No matter the name it's a sweet looking bow! And I bet it shoots as good as it looks. I hope to get to test one out in Kalamazoo in a couple months.

How about Tamarack Moss?

That is a cool looking bow...Up to this point, I never like green glass much, but love the look of that one and would love to see it up close. I bet it is even better.
