Title: Ben Pearson BP-H90
Post by: DirtyD on February 27, 2020, 05:52:54 PM
I fixed a firearm so a budy of mine and he gave me this bow for payment. Its a Ben Pearson BP-H90 7388. Its a 58"/ 45#@28". It also has BT-980.. im trying to get info on it and proper brace hight. With the string all the way loose it has an 8" brace hight from low point on grip and 7" if you go from rear of shelf. What is the proper way to measure on this bow. If from grip low point do i need a longer string? It currently has a 54" string on it. Best i could gather is its the same as a Hunter and is a 68 or 69 year. Any and all information would be appreciated. Thanks. For whatever reason I can't attach pictures.

BP-H90 came to market in '69 (https://scontent-lht6-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/s960x960/87452822_2860084174078373_5473468762533396480_o.jpg?_nc_cat=108&_nc_sid=e007fa&_nc_ohc=9OyzIKzZujEAX_dGwXf&_nc_ht=scontent-lht6-1.xx&_nc_tp=7&oh=fe302b35965db3b14d8eb3bd34cc11f9&oe=5EFAAA00)

Model no. 7388 became the 56" "Gamester" in '70 ....

Brace height measured to "pivot" point i.e. deepest point of grip.

54" dacron/b50 string sounds about right.

Awesome!! Thanks. I got some Easton 390 arrows with 150 gr tips for it. It shoots pretty hard for such an old bow. No limb twist. Said he always kept it unstrung.. well at least the 30 or so years he had it. Gonna clean her up. Cant wait to take down th mighty white tail with it. Lol. If any one has the 55-60 pound of the BP-H90 they willing to part with......

Most Pearson's would outshoot most BEARS. THE man was right, in the previous post, take 4"off the AMO for the string length and that'll provide your brace height. Thus, 54"string for a recurve. It's usually -3"for a long bow. The BP90s I've had in the past; were excellent shooters.
