we have been blessed with some spectacular spring weather the last few weeks and most free time has been spent on teh annual yard work and completing a lean-to off the back of my cabinet shop.
Sunday morning though, I asked my boy if he wanted to go bear hunting in the afternoon, and that about did it! That was all anyone heard about for the next 5 hours; "sorry mom, I am too busy, dad and I are going hunting", "Sorry Amelie, bears are too scary for you, just big boys can go hunting, like daddy and me".
There is still a lot of snow on the ground, but a few bears have been spotted shaking off the winter slumber, and I cant shoot a target worth a darn, but stump shooting puts me in the zone. :archer2:
Found a good spot for some flinging and Des persisted on not returning to the truck too soon, but rather "going deeper" and exploring. We certainly focus on fun over form right now, but his competitive side is strong!

Good for you. These are memories the both of you will treasure the rest of your lives. Spend all the time you can with your kids they grow up way too fast.

Nice hunt Pops.
Tell him to post up some pics of those bears when he gets one!

Neat! Roving with the little guys is a whole lot of fun. My grandkids were slow to take on the archery game, no matter how much I encouraged them. Then we went roving. Now, they really like it. I have come to believe that roving is the best way to introduce a young kid to the sport. It is obvious that your shooting buddy is having a good time.
