Ok just got the Wenge Wing today and removed the Velcro it had on it and waxed it up a bit but was in good condition but I just wanted to shine it for some glamour pictures to. Show the beautiful wood grain . So here are several pictures and I believe but not 100% certain that theWenge is a 1963 model and I thought the Rosewood was too but now I’m thinking a 1964 model? Any Thoughts “Please “ do join in and share .

Now there are a few differences in the Wenge and my old Rosewood and maybe some of you who know their Wings can explain what I noticed and why ?
I’ll see if anyone notices the difference and I think Kelly already told me in a private message a few days back.

Here’s a string I made using Brownell B-50 Dacron 12 strand I wanted to share [ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

Try a 10 strand one, think you’ll like it.
Oh and make sure those loops are no larger than the Y string grooves on each limb. Or for that matter no smaller either.

Beautiful looking bows ....
'63 & '64 catalogues show belly glass ending well below the heel of the grip (as per your wenge), whikst '65 & '66 shows glass all the way to the heel (as per your rosewood).
Each of these catalogues refers to Rosewood, no mention of wenge.
The tip overlays seem to be of different length & palm-swell area of grips shaped differently.

Bernhard ,
Yes I seen that in the 63 and 64 catalogs but I’m guessing my Rosewood is a 1964 because in. 1965 the White Wing riser is a lot different looking..
My Wenge and Rosewood are the exact same in the riser but as you noticed the glass stops before the grip or heal on the 63.
There is other differences I’ll share later in the Wing emblem as well.
I just noticed it yesterday myself but I’ll share when I take a picture later and will post it here for you to look at.

As promised here are the emblems on the upper limbs .
