Equipment: LEFTY Bear mag B riser, #1 limbs (60"AMO). 42#@28" My Draw length is 30" dead on.
Arrows: 50-55 full length cedars at 31.5 or 32" 160 grain field points
I have a dozen of the above arrows. 1/2 are bareshaft and half are fletched. No matter which ones I shoot, I get a hard right shot! charts indicate this is a stiff spine. Now, what makes this puzzling is that I have a few sets of fletched 60-65 cedars of same length with 125 grain field points. these fly great from my 423@28."
HOW!? If the 50-55 are showing stiff, how are the stiffer spines flying fine?

Could be a few things, but IIRC woody's are spined at 26". So... your draw length will really make them act much weaker.
Sometimes you just pull your hair out, then come to realize, it is what it is.
:)

What is IIRC? The ones in question are port orford cedars from 3 rivers.
-
What is IIRC? ...
If I Recall Correctly.
-
I should have known that! Hahahaha :knothead:

If you are a lefty a hard right indicates weak.
-
If you mean the arrow is impacting to the right, nock left and you are left handed those arrows are stiff. 50/55s carbons are waaay too stiff for that bow. Try 15/35gts or .600 spine in that bow. I believe theyll tune for you.
-
Sorry i misread---the wood arrow part. Try something between 40-45# spine. With length and tip weight adjustments they should tune. The carbon recommendations i posted above should also work. Good luck.
-
Your actual draw weight is between 46 to 48# if youre drawing 30" w/ a 42# bow. 160 grn field tip is gobs of weight and combined with the arrow length at 31.5 to 32" youre way too weak. Not to mention that riser is probably cut to center or beyong which intensifies the weak arrows your using.
-
The OP is getting a stiff reading. Arrow impacting to the right for a lefty is stiff.
-
Youre right Rifleman...
Impact point of arrow to the right indicates a Stiff spine. I took it to mean nock impact right which would male it weak. Hard to believe though that his shafts are stiff at that arrow lenght, point weight and arrow lenght.
I think unless we get Mr robinhood to comment on this thread with more info it maybe dead :)
