Hi guys i need some tips. I have a nice fat bushpig on bait and want to shoot it with my struggle stick.i will be shooting from a pop up blind. How do you guys manage to see your arrow to make a shot in almost complete darkness? In daytime my shooting is good. But in the darkness it just feels wrong. :biglaugh:

Well it wont happen fast but if you shoot in the dark with just your target lit up, you can shoot just fine.
As a matter of fact, that is truly instinct shooting.
I never thought of it way back years ago but I learned to shoot by looking where I want the arrow to go and put it there.
Countless hours shooting carp in the dark with just the water lit really enforced in me to pay no attention to my bow or arrow.
It's like playing catch with someone, you have no sighting reference for that. :dunno:

Thanks Pine
I have been practicing for the past 2 weeks. What i dit found worked for me this afternoon was to close my eyes and draw and anchor. That helped me to focus on the fundamentals. Took a few shots just now and as sure as hell it dit work :archer2:

I booked a pig hunt in South Carolina this last May. When I got there they said the pigs moved at night and I had to shoot in the dark. They didn’t mention that when they took my money, but I digress.
They gave me a green flashlight and said go practice. I have a bow quiver and taped the light to the limb mount of the quiver. I found I could shoot normally if the light was directed at the target, but leaving enough on the periphery to light up my arrow top at draw. The aluminum insert ring lit up like it was neon. I used that to align left and right and set my gap. It worked great.
Never even saw a pig on that hunt. Last time I book with those guys. Despite telling me no problem for a traditional archer, when I got down there they said I was the first guy they’ve ever had with a stick bow.

Oh, another point. I lined up the string by following it’s darkness against the lit target.
