I Been over on the Bowyers bench for about 7 years.
I have life long injuries to my left shoulder , so I'm right handed, back in the 90's I shot left handed with bows that had wheels on each limb, with the let-off I was holding 25#. I can do that.
So I'm going to make me a 25# recurve for target shooting.
I'm sure the spine charts at the arrow shops have a cushion there for spine to keep themselves out of court.
I WANT 250 grains total arrow weight with FOC correct, 28" total length with field point.
I have some carbons 600's with 5.7gpi but maybe could shoot some 700's?
Or tell me what I need????

What kind of recurve are you thinking about making? Fiberglass backed laminated, or self, makes a big difference in choice of arrows.

Fiberglass laminated Recurve
185fps maybe
This is one I made a few months ago
I can make it Center shot too

Very fine looking bow. With a 25# bow like that, you could use 1616 aluminum arrows, or if you wanted something a little zippier, you could use a PSE Razorback. https://www.lancasterarchery.com/pse-razorback-youth-arrow.html They call them youth arrows, but I use them for anyone who visits me who needs an arrow in the 25# range.

Thanks for the Info, I have looked at some youth arrows but can't find any weights.
Do you know the weight of the Razorbacks are?
Is it possible to find a 250 grain total weight arrow like I wanted?

If this helps you, this is what my wife shoots:
Easton 'Vector' 1000-spine carbon arrows
Length = 28"
Fletched (from factory) with three 2-1/4" shield cut feathers
Glue-In target tip of ?unknown? weight already installed
Total shaft weight = 217 grains as shot
We bought these from a local shop for $5 each. She uses them out of a vintage Ben Pearson 'Pony' recurve and they fly absolutely beautiful! Only tuning we needed to do was to file the nocks to fit our string. We have a short range setup in the basement and there is a small shelf for the arrow on both sides of that bow (I'm LH'd) and I think I love shooting that bow with those arrows more than she does!
I keep threatening to take it to an indoor shoot at my local archery range or to a 3D shoot someday ... and maybe some time I will, LOL!

Thanks Guy's

The Razorbacks are 210 grains, and the 1616 aluminums are 308 grains. Both were weighed with the glued-in points that come with them.
210 grains is 8.4 gpp for a 25# bow, which is pretty close to ideal, in my opinion.

You guy's are Awesome over here :bigsmyl:

I'd be curious to know why you're limiting yourself to a 28" arrow and 10 gpp. I've got a set of limbs about 29# for form work and I use a full length .800 (32") shaft with 75 grain tips. They weigh right at 8 gpp. Those limbs really zip that arrow. :)

I had been searching for arrows and the spine charts was showing shorter arrows the spine could go higher.
like a 600 spine for 28" long arrow, or a 700 spine for a 25" long arrow.
So I got some Vectors 1000's
Question would a center shot site window be better than 3/16/1/4" from center??????

Better? That's very subjective. But a bow cut to center, if anything, is more forgiving on shootable spines through the bow and it will handle a few with ease. Whereas the less center shot the window is, then the more critical it is for the arrow to have less spine so as to properly bend 'around' the bow.
I have centershot recurves and r/d longbows 1/8" out and more and honestly for carbon arrows, I/we find none of the carbon spine charts were of any help and we use lighter spined arrows than what the charts state. Same for my friends too, that's why I say 'we'; at least for our lighter bows (45# % less) and shorter draws.

Keeping you guy's up to date.
I'm building my bow, I hit my 25#@28".
Shaping the riser and I ended up 1/8" Past center on the arrow shelf ;)
Thanks for all the help
