I recently purchased a bear bow that was given to the Wrigley family on a hunt on Catalina Island by Fred Bear. Does any body have any info on this particular bow. Purchase was from a former employee's family member of the Wrigley family who worked as a care taker at the family's lodge on Catalina Island. There is a story that goes with the bow. First i would like to authenticate the bow by any information I can find. The bow was purchased in southern ca, pretty much directly accross from Catalina Island. The family member has pictures of the employee at work, and with the Wrigley family, like years of them. I am inclined to believe this is the bow as to the close contact to its origin of the family and southern ca location. The bows cond. is near as perfect as I have ever seen, in an original bear sleeve. Does anybody have any information on this bow, or the Hunt Thanks Ken

Why don’t you post some pics here of the bow or at least give a description of it. That way members here can help you date the bow and tell you what model it is. Then maybe you can match that info up with other info you have.
What are you wanting people to authenticate?

Fred Bear gave a lot of bows away to friends, hunting companions, business associates, etc. So there’s a chance Fred did that and you now have that bow. There’s also a chance it’s just a story that has just been passed down like many others.
How are we supposed to authenticate he gave a bow to the Wrigley family when we don’t know the time period of the bow or anything else?
