Title: Just for a chuckle
Post by: Pine on March 11, 2021, 01:02:06 PM
I'm a tool maker by trade and I make a knife once in a while.
Several of the Engineers I work with know about that and this one Engineer had me help him with a Church youth group that wanted to make some knives.
I wont go into that because that's not what this thread is about.
That same Engineer was designing some skiver blades for cutting conveyer belts.
He has a company that makes our blades but they don't do custom prototypes so who should make the blades?
Now for the funny part.  The work order on the last part of the request said
"SHARPEN TO THE HIGHEST LEVEL KNOWN TO MAN"
So I assume that must be the proper technical term.

That’s amazing! Usually engineers are so dull and dry, but occasionally you get a guy that breaks the mold and you start seeing instructions like that.

Most of us can't achieve it, but we all certainly understand his highly appropriate technical description of sharpness.
