I like the looks of the "Super Shrew" and I see it only comes in 56", 58" & 60" lengths. I have a long draw, 30" on my Black Widow PSAX, how would this go with such a short bow?
Still looking for some pics of Shrews too? :help:

Aussie,
I have a couple of Shrews - a 60" SS Gold that I ordered directly from Ron and received Mar06, and 58" SS Deluxe (grey actionwood) that I bought used Dec05. Like you, I also have a 30" draw. The 60" bow handles my long draw with no problems whatsoever, and I think I enjoy shooting the 58"er even more. Both bows pull about 53# at my draw.
-
Thanks Mr Thompson (thats what I had to call my first boss...lol) I was kinda worried about that.
And thanks for the tips bentpole. I'll head over and take a look see.
But I must say by the looks of the pic I started this thread with I'm getting hooked! :knothead:

Sure is....THAT'S MY BOW! I took that photo while on an Arizona elk hunt. It's a 60" Super Shrew Deluxe.
That particular bow is 57@26" and I shot either 27" 2016's with a 145gr tip or 27" Heritage 150's with a 175 gr tip out of the bow.
Let me know if you have any other questions.

I have a pair of Super Shrew bows in grey and brown and a brown Super Shrew deluxe, all 56" and around 65# at my 29.5" draw. The Super Shrews are two piece connexion hinge takedowns which makes them real handy to travel with. I have had good success shooting these bows with 600 gr carbons, front heavy with STOS 165 gr broadheads and 100 gr weight adaptors.

Super SHREW on a test drive in WY.
58# @ 27" I pull 29+/-

Ron would probably recommend a 60" Super Shrew for your 30" draw. I draw about 29" with my 58" Samurai and it's comfortable. I'm keeping my eyes open for a 60" version too in the classified section.
-
They are just plain fun to shoot
mine is a Super Shrew Deluxe 60" 55 @ 29

I really like my SS Chameleon and Griffin...and my Grffin sure looks allot like your old one 4fletch...60" 56@26" boo core with maple veneers? I think I shoot it better than my Chameleon that's 60" 53@28". They are both great bows with the best grip out there...
Bob
-
Yes, Bob that's the same bow. You should sell
me the Chameleon. That griffin is
a shooter just a little much my 29" draw.

MAN!! I want one bad.
What's the wait on a new one now?
There was one in the classifieds about a month ago that was 60" AMO, 53# @ 28" Limited Edition with a knife that went with it. PERFECT setup for me. I was about 5 minutes late finding it. :knothead:
Whoever bought that bow, let me know, and I will be glad to give your money back for it.

ONE YEAR WAIT rawhide. I have only till next OCTOBER Just in time for the rut!!!Oh and if you see a shrew they do go quick Mystic Guido picked a 90's model up for 150.00 thats like hittin the lottery!!!

That's a long time. I would probley go crazy waiting on it.

Didn't that used to be my bow (at one time)? :)
Shrews are very nice bows.
-
I just put a link on my web site to introduce the new "Shrew Classic" Here's a peek :readit:
http://www.shrewbows.com/shrewclassic.htm
-
What draw lengths do you think the Classic will handle Ron?
-
You had to go and do it.... didn't you Ron!
al
-
Just when ya think ya got all ya need :saywhat:
Why can't you be content RETIRED "OL HOSS"
-
What draw lengths do you think the Classic will handle Ron?
The 54" length should take a 29" draw without any problem. Even the 52" can be drawn that far but the string angle becomes pretty severe at that point.
Hey Vance, I'm having too much fun to retire :archer:
-
other then the deeper handle it looks just like my old Shrew..... Nice Job Ron on the New Classic Shrew.
-
"The Super Shrew with it's 16" riser dictates that we keep our bow length between 56" to 60". What we have done with the "Shrew Classic" is shorten the riser to 12" and redesign the limb to make a shorter 52" or 54" longbow. People who like short bows for hunting are really going to like this little dynamo. "
Hmmmm, just think how sweet a short riser in a 56" bow would be for us gorilla draw guys. ;)

OH BROTHER!!!

-
Raw Hide,he has a gray SS that is the same specs that he may turn loose of in a month or so. If he does,I will drop you a line.Tom {Dawn Patrol}
-
