Title: Osage Selfbow Possible Back Issue

Hello, I am finishing my first osage selfbow which was a very good challenge, and found that this slightly twisted stave has very narrow growth rings on one limb which appeared during the rough out and again at now final sanding.

see the picutre where you are looking at the back of the bow where the next growth ring is visible on the edge of the back.

Is this an issue to worry about? during the rought out I brought the edge in more to get rid of this should I do it again or leave it..

If thats where you rounded over the edge, then it's good :thumbsup:
You have to break the edge somehow

I was able to zoom in on it and it looks good to me :thumbsup:

I always round over the corners on the back before I start tillering.
The belly too, and as I tiller I keep rounding it over while scraping.
That way it just needs a little sanding and you don't loose any weight.

As long as it runs parallel with the bow it should be OK. It would be like how decrowning a stave works.
