Title: Epoxy bow Finish
Post by: Buggs on August 16, 2022, 08:08:56 AM
I'm wondering if anyone who uses epoxy as a finish has ever had any problems with blushing?
I experienced it for the first time recently. Pretty sure it was because the humidity was high. It was not a big problem, it rubbed off with a little warm soapy water, but it was a surprise!

Depends on the epoxy. Some blush normally and it has to be removed. I use MAS epoxy which does not blush. (20 years of wooden boat building)

Well there you go, exterior and no blushing and I guessing it holds up really well.

This was MAX epoxy that I decided to use for a surface coat. First time using it and first time getting curing blush with any epoxy. It was not a problem, I had heard about it for years and knew exactly what was happening. I did let the coating cure for 3 days before I sprayed it. Seemed like the safe thing to do.
